Power Addiction Ultimate Pro Combo

PR Performance, Brad, and anyone else who knows. I am a flat land rider. I have a switchback 800 Pro-R and ride around 1000-1500'. The guys out here say that V-Force reeds are a No-No for they don't last very long on this engine, Also they state that "gutting" the airbox actually losses HP. Is this just random trash talk, or have you guys seen a positive result?

I am interested in the Power Addiction head to add to my BMP pipe and PCV. I am trying to get that low end to mid range snap. Not looking for big MPH, just a fun torque trail monster.

Thanks For any help.

You will love the head then in that case! Big gain in bottom to mid over the stock head. Tons of fun. Not huge gains on the peak, but the throttle response if crazy.

As to the v-forces, I will never buy another set. The pedals just do not hold up. Try a set of boysens if you have your heart set on a set of reeds. Add the head 1st, and doubt you will still be wanting reeds.

I know the whole shelf thing in the iq chassis was a buisness move from slp claiming they lost HP to sell there product i have my own reason that slp dosnt have us consumers in there best intrest. My 08 D7 was fouling plugs when it was new i gutted my airbox and some how magicly the plugs were almost spot on perfect color at the bend of the electrode. I always try things for myself 9 times out of 10 i should have listend but i like to see for myself and the gutted airbox worked for me/

Just got the pipe in and programmed the pcv for pipe and head, at 1000 feet with the 13.6 head I am running 40% 110 race and 60% 91. We just got a few inches this weekend so I had to try this out, I am also running a tied secondary. With the almond primary spring and 66 g stock weights, I kept hitting the rev limiter. One note my motor is brand new and still has some oil in the gas, so this package is only going to get better. I will be at least running 70g wieghts for my home elevation. This thing is so snappy, was not able to do real long pulls cause of my snow conditions, but next week in togwotee will be the real test as we have another stock pro assault(no mods) three new summits and a new yamaha nitro with factory turbo in our group. Cant wait to see the results. one other thing is my compression with stock head at my elevation was about 115, once I put the 13.6 head, I am pushing 150psi. After this trip I will be trying to install the auto tune with this package. Anyone tried that yet? Could use some info, I have found some threads with some helpful info, more would be good.

I just got back from togwotee, and this combo rocks. I was pulling 10-66 weights at the 8500-9000 feet with the setup I had in at about 7900 to 8000rpm. I will be changing to the blk/purple sec spring. I tried the 64g weights and it didn't seem to change the top rpm, it lost some of its pull at midrange. This thing flat out rips, I am only running the 144 switchback with timbersled rear skid, but I had no problem getting upto where the long summits and 155 pro went. I was able to stay at about 7900 rpm on pulls up the bigger hills. Great work Brad and Cpi for this combo. Absolutely loved it. I bolted everything up, pluged in the map in the pcv and away I went, no hiccups or problems. I recommend this kit.

Try some heel heavy weights like mtx's your next trip out. This motor really love them.

Heading back out in march, which mtx weights would a guy throw at it for starting weight, never used them before.

I would start with 68g mtx's with 3g's in the belly and 1 in the tip. That should get you about the smae r's on the top. What you will find is that it will pull far harder off the line and in the midrange.

Just wondering if there are anymore reviews on the "PAR ULTIMATE PRO COMBO" ???

Also, what is the deal with the SLP pipe VS the CPI pipe -1200psi's previous post states that he's been working with CPI to develop a pipe but the PAR website lists an SLP pipe provided with the "PAR ULTIMATE PRO COMBO" ???

I'd also like to hear if anyone has compared brads ultimate to an SLP kit. I'm running his 13.1 head with hps can with mds weights and it ripped last year but still want some more without getting too deep into the motor.... Thinking just getting SLP pipe and programmer from brad instead of completely swapping over to SLP kit. Tho I've heard nothing but good things about SLP stage 3 I just don't want to start all over plus brads head works great for what n how I ride

So the reason I went away from the cpi pipe was simply supply and price point . Where these pipes where hand made the cost was to high to make and the time to build them was even worse. Performance wise the cpi did have a few more hp but the slp is a great match for our products and work very well in this combo so that is why I went to them.

Cascade fyi the ultimate combo makes 156 hp at peak. There is about 12-15 hp over a stock sled. There is about 8 hp over the hps silencer and par head at peak. The only downside is you have to use the pc5 with the system where as the other is just a bolt on and go.

Hope this helps.

Thanks brad I'll call you in the morning. Thank you for all your help and standing behind your products.

Talked with a friend that has a 12 pro with SLP stage 4 kit that I'll be riding with more this year so it'll be fun to see how each sled runs.

I think the head will work great, especially if clutched right, however, the stage 4 slp should still walk all over it. I had that same slp kit on my 09 M8 and it ran unreal. The PA heads are good but your talking about porting, head mod, reeds, and pipe on the slp kit.

Thanks for the reply & the info.................

So you throw a set of reeds on the par ultimate combo and basically the only difference is the porting right? I've heard mixed reviews on the reeds having issues anyways.

With the reviews of the vf reeds I would save your money, and put it into a stellar clutch setup. Our helix and mds weights are a real nice package for the average person. If you want more we do have other packages with porting and our exclusive l/r kits on the 800 motors also. We are doing dynoing this Thursday on a motor that I built that is basically our porting, head, slp pipe and the par long /rod kit. I will have some results by the end of the week should be exciting.
