Power 90x

I say if we have some peeps that all want to start it.....we can start the same time and push each other and whether you do it intense or medium......we can keep track and talk and post results. Could be fun.

I heard if you do it with people it is easier my buddy did it with all the guys at his work and dropped 50 lbs w/diet. He is the one who inspired me to do it. My biggest problem will be the diet 1. I love food 2. I work till 10 at night so does my wife so we eat out way too much. The sad thing is back when I was racing BMX I was skinny as a twig. I ate anything I wanted but riding almost everyday kept the lbs off. Below I was in the best shape of my life 1 month after this pic I busted my knee cap and both ankles, gained 60 lbs and never lost it. I would love to get here again.

I did it a little over a year ago. Started just running for about 3 months, and then did the P90x for another 90 days. Went from 220lbs to 170lbs. My cardio was pretty good after that.

Like others have said, the diet is key to looking good. I stuck to the diet pretty good, but after I was done I could hardly wait to eat a pizza, and drink a few beers.

Make sure to take your before, & after pix. It will keep you motivated when you start seeing the changes. Be prepaired for allot of pushups, and pullups. I highly recomend the Bowflex dumbells. There kind of expensive, but worth there weight in gold if you plan on sticking with it.

I just have the discs, what is the diet comprised of?

The thing with the P90 is you have to follow the diet to a T. The workout will help strengthen and tone your muscles but you will not see much of a difference if your diet is crap. The diet is 85 percent of the results. My buddy and I did p90X twice with a crappy diet and finally a third time on the advanced and we put our diets in check. I was already in great shape but he was a little overweight and his results were amazing after he got his diet in check.

I am thinking, high protein, higher frequency, vegetables, no simple sugars, no heavy meals after lunch, nothing to eat after 7:00 at night?
This always been a fundamental flaw in my routines, I LOVE TO EAT!
Any insight or even if you have the diet on pdf that you can send to me, would be helpful

Not sure but I wouldn't rule out eating after 7. In fact one of the best times and ways to get protein into your system is to eat cottage cheese or some other form of slow release protein (casien) before you call it a night. Not a ton but a serving or so.

My diet was not always perfect but what helped me a ton was breaking out my meals throughout the day, so instead of eating just a big lunch and a big supper I would break my meals up and have 7 or 8 smaller meals. I was big into taking in alot of protein most places will say 1 gram per pound of bodyweight but I always took in 1.5 to 2 grams and I found that to help out alot. Also like xrated said if you can get some cassein protein to take around 7 or a little after before you go to bed, not only is it beneficial but it helps to curb any appetitie you have to eat late at night. I tried to take in as many fruits and vegetables throughout the day and for my main meals, lunch and dinner would just make some sandwhiches or cook some chicken breasts throughout the week. My mornings would consist of some egg whites and just some peanut butter or pb&j sandwhiches to get some protein right away.

Nice to see some snowesters used to race BMX. I'm still racing(well getting back into it now) love racing! Nice pic! Looks like a trophy from a national! Nice

The diet for p90 is not bad at all good food. I just had a chicken scramble and 3 pieces of turkey bacon. Not bad.

I've been told eating every three hours (6-9-12-3-6-9)..speeds the metabolism and helps with weight loss. Just eat what you regularly eat but throughout the day..Now, my problem is how you find time to eat every three hours..? ;) Good luck with P90!

I want to get back into it so bad. That trophy means allot to me For a couple reasons 1. it was my first ever national win 2. I got picked up by powerlight just after that race 3. I beat silver medalist Mike Day 4. 5. I went expert with that win after sandbagging for three weeks. 5. 3 weeks later I went over the bars after the first turn at rad and almost broke my neck. That was my last race on a peddle bike.

try and eat a mini meal if you get morning and afternoon breaks.

I used to eat 5 eggs for breakfast.

morning break was around 4oz of chicken breast

lunch was a couple samiches and a bowl of cottage cheese and yogurt

afternoon was a couple granola bars, bannana and cheese

before working out was a shake of milk, whey powder, peanut butter and nanner.

supper was pasta with tuna. or burgers, chicken, baked taters.

course I was trying to gain weight so if you are trying to loose I'd say don't have 2 lunches, etc. BUT you still want to try and have actual mini meals each time. Try and get food in you that will hold ya through.

Another thing that can speed up metabolism is dairy foods which get a bad rap for being high in calories.

Im getting the diet all put together on the computer in a spread sheet for anyone that wants it.

I'll tell you what we are doing level 1 diet (fat burner) in 3 day I'm down 5 lbs. I starving but I am supplementing with power bars and I still feel hungry. But I am hoping for good results in the long run. As for the exercises I found my wife rocks she busts it out. Me well I found almost every exercises involves your shoulder muscles and i am not doing much!

a word of caution with the "high protein" aspect of this diet

I will take a copy, pdf?

Make certain that you bump up your H2O intake significantly! The risk for Kidney stones is pretty high. From what i have experienced, it is the man's way of having passed a baby!!! OUCH.. Once off the carb/caloric restrictive part of this diet, make sure to remember "fats burn in the flames of carbohydrates" Meaning, you won't burn as much fat without adequate carbohydrates.
D

I'm doing the level 2 diet. It fills me up pretty good and I have energy to get through the workouts. This would be hard if the food they made you eat wasn't good. I'll post results after the first 28 days. I like the idea of having a p90x forum with posts from Utah snowest. If anyone has questions or needs motivation can get on here and help eachother out.

M8 you going to be riding Rad anytime soon just renewed the ABA card see if I can still ride a bike. LOL

told the wife I was thinking of doing this...she just rolled her eyes:face-icon-small-con

LOL that what the wife did to me three weeks ago. LOL Now she wakes up every morning before me. I just wish I could fully commit dang body parts.

The thing that sucks about changing your diet/workout routine(P90x) is that you have to stick to it now and after you hit your ultimate goal or your right back where you were from the start in no time at all. That's what I hate about this sort of thing. You have to make a lifestyle change and you have to like it because your going to be doing it until you don't want to look and feel good anymore. :face-icon-small-con We all know you can't hit your perfect size and weight and not do the diet and workout any longer. Wouldn't that be great though? Good luck Justin. I understand your comment about the dang body parts. I just started jumping in PT(very awkward) and I still haven't worked up to running yet. I hope I don't have to do that suddenly anytime soon. :face-icon-small-sho

Yeah I made the comment to my pt on Friday " so ya think I can ride a mx bike next month?" he laughed and said maybe by October!

agreed on the water intake! And make sure you aren't starving yourself, look up how many calories you're supposed to be putting into your body, because either way..not enough calories or too many calories you'll gain weight. ;)

Okay so I am almost done scanning int all three diets from the book in pdf. So if you want one of the diets just tell me I should be done tomorrow.
