Powder Pro Ski modification

Does anyone have any experience with modified powder pro skies? I have heard of cutting the rear outside edge off to make them more predictable. I switched from simmons because they pushed so badly. Now the PP's seem to dive around on semi-set up snow sidehills. It also seems like I have to snap the bars hard and then back to initiate a smooth counter steer instead the old smooth motion. Where do most like the skis mounted? In the skis forward or aft positon? Would this mod help?

thanx!

Had em and hated um

They are deep keel skis so they will bite aggressivly in set up snow. Do the cut outs for sure. I love them in the Pow but fight them on the trail. Just a trade off I guess.

The skis are a little less darty on the hardpack with the skis further back. I have them in the forward position though cause it gets on top of the pow better. It's only like 1" on my edge so it's not that big of a difference. I also have the cuts on the outside edges. Much better IMO in the deep on sidehilling and counter steering. Takes no time to cut them out. Just make sure you make a nice transition. You could use a jig, angle grinder with cutoff wheel, dremel with cutoff wheel, etc, etc...

I did the cut as posted and I do like it. no dif in float and able to pull it over a bit easyer. did not notice anything bad.:beer;:beer;

I've got 2 edge sleds with powder pro's. One with the cutouts and the other was left alone. I honestly can't tell a difference. They are both easy to handle in the deep snow. Both are aggressive on the trail. Would I do it again? Probably not.
