This was the start of april when we had that sick week of dumps. Called in sick to ride Meadows tuesday. Took Friday off to ride crystal and got first tracks on green valley. Rode Stevens Saturday and left my boot at home on the dryer so I had to rock floppy clapped out rentals. Sunday I met up with Poppoff and tried sledding for the first time. On our way back down at like 3pm I could hardly stand up on the sled.......but I saw this zone through the logging road switch backs and we just had to get it tracked out.........and did it ever :face-icon-small-hap

Poppoff love your pics, got me drooling over that zone for spring for sure.

Speaking of zones, serious bidnezz right here. Really hoping for a major snowpack this year to open up some lines out yonder:

A pic from Halloween of this year... near Crested Butte.

thats awesome!!

i rode on halloween one time in like 1989 at Mt Bachelor OR. after an all night drive from seattle.. 2 days prior we were hiking Chinook pass here in Washington, i dont have the gumption to drive that far for early season snow anymore. but dang you guys got thr good in your backyard it looks like.. or not far away :)

i always liked this picture, one nice solo line, i sledded back up to take a pic of the line under the glacier.. Mt Baker one year in May

rad-Err :)

do you usually rock your season pass when out sledding ;)

i find riding with my helmet throws me off.. i ralley tough on the sleds so i always rock a helmet, but when its time to board the helmet gets put aside..
i see alot of sled shredders dont rock a helmet at all when riding sleds.. and well. i think they are crazy!

I know my Chin is at stake if i slam the bars, but I ride with the ski helmet.

Ha! Busted with my pass! I actually tend to go out for days where I'll ride the lifts for a bit in the morning then head out of bounds in the afternoon. Pass, Splitty, Sled gotta have all the options...

Riding the full face doesn't bother me much. The helmet in the pic is a light weight carbon lid. For just carving around in pow, I'm happy to just wear a hat but I was taking a few more aggressive lines this day including a step-down gap over the top of some trees where I really wanted my head protected.

There are places we go that the sledding is so mellow that I'll just wear my half-bucket but generally much prefer the full face. If I have to skin, the full face definitely gets left behind.

Just about to put the Doo up for sale, going to go to an '11 M8 I think. But this setup has been killer. We've used a couple different systems to haul boards but the CFR Double-D rack is by far the most refined.
