Polaris Star Card?

I'm getting ready to pick up my new sled and I am considering this option. I found some less than favorable posts on here and other sites, but it is all 4 years old or older. Has anyone used it to purchase a sled recently? How would you rate the service and fairness of their policies? Thanks!

Tom

sheffield is good people
Polaris StarCard is no longer HSBC but has been bought-out by Capital 1(or at least mine).

I used them to buy my 2011 Pro and got free interest for a year.

I've read of people complaining about late fees but I setup payments online and never had an issue.

Read the fine print and decide which offer is best for you.

Yes, I've also had good service with Sheffield. My current Ski Doo is financed with them. I've also had Capitol One for many years. I was under the impression Polaris Star had better rates over longer periods. Just tonight, I see Sheffield has listed a 2.99% for 36 months for tier A&B. Whatever that means! I may have to look into that. Thanks for the responses!

Tier A&B is
Tier "A" is For top qualified loan applicants
Tier "B" is next level down
And Tier "C" is for high risk loan applicants
Sheffield or Polaris Starcard (which is now capital one) both have good rates but if your late just like any other loan company it defaults to a outrageous % rate

I have financed two Polaris' through the Star card now. I do it because the first year is interest free. After that first year I pay for the sled or transfer it to my credit union. It's free money. The auto payment is a good idea, all banks that do free interest for a period will tax it back on if you miss a payment.

Use them...just be sure and beat the deadline on paying off!!

One thing I did when paying off a new sled at the end of the interest free term I sent the money certified!!

Good thing to! They tried to claim they never recieved in time then I provided them the signature that they did. Never heard another word.
