Polaris 2017 Speculation Thread

QD Belt or Chain case option for 2.6 or 3" new a arm and powder coated tunnel, skid, and a arms. With lots of snow check options such as walker or fox and were gonna give you a golden ticket:face-icon-small-hap I'll be snow checking if this happens.

Local dealer has had 3 SKSs sitting on the floor all season. They are either priced to high or no one wants it? Bring the price down with some compromises and you have a winner. JMO.

We have 7 of them in our group. Went out west after christmas and saw several in rabbit ears.

In reality... the on-bar controls are not less expensive... the shocks are ...but not as much as you might think in terms of mfg costs.

.

Correct. Never understood how the cheaper RMK had the good controls. I guess they had cheaper bars than the aluminum Pro Tapers. Maybe that offset it.

Practical refinements to a great chassis:

Better, more efficient cooling system that doesn't create snow accumulation problems - that we all know exist but are afraid to admit because that would be giving in to the Cat guys.

A new drive shaft that doesn't have a collar.

An adjustable belt drive. Gear ratio options from the factory to go with it.

Sub 400 lbs dry weight from the factory.(simply improve the muffler and you are there)

Coated A-Arms to help with the snow accumulation problem. (personally I like the fact that they are bendy - I have a friend with a Doo that still isn't fixed because something bent down deep instead of the A arm)

And .... BNG!! LOL

Fox float evol shocks. 3" with belt drive. 37" stance. Beefed up rear suspension drop brackets.

Better electronic connectors, better Quailty control on the TPS, titanium spring option, ti bolts where practical for more weight savings and less rotating mass (clutch, suspension etc). Lite weight starter, foam filled handlebars, better lower a-arms, better scratchers

Factory turbo with the 174 comming on the axyz, i see is a big step for Polaris.. It will be the game changer, guessing for 18999$..

I'm hoping polaris and doo will throw in a little cash for some hooked on phonix for freddyw. I think my 4 year old nephew can spell better then he can. Every time I read a post from Freddy I don't know what's funnier, his horrible grammar or that skidoo that is shoved so far up his a$$ that he spits yellow. Don't think I've ever seen a guy more threatened by other brands that he has to trash everything out there.

Your last 58 replies has been how Polaris is done and may as well shut there doors and it's game over cuz this new doo is the shi%. Now Polaris has a factory turbo coming out and is a game changer? lmao

Please keep it civil...

.

tell fred to put a cork in it and it will be civil. nobody likes the replies or the crap he has to offer and does these forums absolutely no good.

On the other hand it's going to be an exciting year next year. I rode my 16 axys and a demo 174 doo and loved both sleds. If I had to choose it would take one of each. But I ended up snow checking a 17 165 doo. So should be a good year next year. Have the axys, and gen 4 in the trailer to ride.

Would love 36" arms and 174"x3" track, belt drive.

my honest opinion is if my axys had a 174 3" it would have outdone the 174 doo. We were riding in silent pass last weekend and had 3 foot of fresh when I rode both. Axys is a sweet setup for sure.

The 800cc power plant... is probably the lightest most compact powerplant out there...with the least amount of inertial influence over the sled of any of the sleds out there...

That is HUGE... sure you can make more power with a bigger motor... but what is the trade-off??. and just how important is that to you as a rider?

I have a 2007, 80mm stroke, 900 Dragon... and had a 700 Dragon at the same time... in the same chassis... that 700 sure was a lot better to throw around... and they were within 10 lbs of each other on the shop floor.

.

you have the 900 in the 07'?
did you get the counter balanced crank kit too?
where did you get your rolling raw chassis?

when I saw the stroke of the new 850 SD was 80.4mm I thought of the 9 and when I saw engagement at 3800n redline at 7900

I'd be happy with them getting a grip on the ongoing QC issues;

Aluminum Drive shaft: Spline fit, bearing stub end fitment, glue interface tolerance. The ones I've disassembled to build my own have been all over the board. Even a novice machinist on manual equipment could get better results.

The electrical system: Quit outsourcing this to China! Or at least provide tighter specs. So you / we get a quality product back. The quality of the components and the quality of the build needs to be greatly improved to avoid the gremlins that result in soiling your reputation.

Carbon fiber: If you are going to call it Carbon Fiber then deliver Carbon Fiber! Not the Faux Chinese Carbon Fiber you have been using to date that is really fiberglass top coated with one layer of Carbon Fiber. I can and have bought the exact same Faux "Carbon Fiber" tube on E-bay for $10/ 6 ft. Why do you charge $300-400 for the same part? The cast aluminum lugs and assembly do not cost $150-200. Quit raping us! I can and have re-tubed the front structure with Titanium tube for under $100 and it is just as light as your Faux Carbon Fiber, without any concern of failure.

There are more but I'll leave it at that.

"The Devil is in the details" Iron those out and none of the other manufactures have a chance of catching up. Ignore the details and they will crucify you.

I can see a narrow ski stance coming.

I really thought Polaris would fix their TPS issues with this new engine.. to me it is their biggest downfall. Which honestly isnt much in the grand scheme of things. But to have the best sled out there these are things consumers shouldnt have to deal with. Fix those issues and im back on a polaris.
