Polaris 2017 Speculation Thread

Why do you want a new chassis and a new motor? Why do you think Polaris would release ANOTHER new chassis and new motor after they already did last year?

Going off what I have read there is a lot of people interested in a purpose built tree riding backcountry sled. I am sure that Timbersled was not purchased just for Poo to say the have a piece of the snowbike market. So there is where I could see a new chassis, narrow, centralized mass, single or narrow stance double ski, with a staggered lug height(deeper in the center) And new motor to power it, or looking at the timeline the 600 is due for a makeover...600 HO industry leading 130-ish hp...just a dream I am sure.
If they do release a new chassis it would no doubt be an eye-opener.

I bet your vision comes true....just not this year. It's only been a year since they bought timbersled

Just finished the 2017 Timbersled Reveal Thread.
Look for it to appear in the SNOWBIKE forum at the same moment the Polaris reveal thread opens up this evening.

I disagree. I don't think strength has anything to do with it. Have you seen a single belt failure of an axys belt drive? 900 hard miles on mine and the belt looks PERFECT

And maybe you are right strength isn't a problem but how come Polaris didn't install it on the 3" options this year? They all came with the chaincase. Just explain that. I know your 2.6 will be fine. I'm arguing that a 3 inch won't.

It was told by the engineers, and I believe it, that the gearing that they wanted for the 3" couldn't be achieved with the QD without the lower gear hanging down too far.

Yep.
I heard it STRAIGHT from the engineers in Jan 15 at the pre-release demo ride.

I believe you. I actually think I remember that too.

But what will make things any different this year then?

Hard to say. I recall noticing that they did NOT use the term "never" when using the terms QD and 3" track in the same sentence.

Hey Polaris, how about you release info at say, 7 pm cst? Some of us get up at 3 am to go to work. 10 cst, is 11 pm for our brethren on the east coast. Ya fricken morons.

If I were you go to bed early and then enjoy a website that works again at 3am. LOL Because you can bet tonight it's going to crash......like they all do every year! :face-icon-small-con

I have some serious EYE CANDY for you guys in a couple hours.
Polaris provided me with a TON of Ultra-High res photos of the new sled in the backcountry. Some really gorgeous shots. having to edit and size every one of them to fit in our format. But I think you will enjoy all of them.

Will the release be on this forum? So I don't have to go chasing it?
