pneumatic rivet gun

What is the best pneumatic rivet gun to get when working on snowmobiles??? Also what is a good cordless impact wrench to get??? Thanks for any help

I have a CP883... it has pulled an obscene amount of rivets for me and still works great!

And while you are at it pick up a cleco kit from Summit Racing, I think they are only about $35 and make mock-ups and assembly a breeze! :)

Those cheap rivit guns are fine. I use hundreds of rivits every year on the race car and the gun I have right now I would guess has installed 2-3,000 rivits.

As for the impact I have a 13/8 drive 4.4 millwauke that is small and compact but yet has good power. 3/8" or small fasteners is perfect for it.

Another vote for the harbor freight rivet gun. I normally hate buying stuff there but figured it wouldn't use it that much. Its done a full frame repair and lots of other projects and I have more problems with our expensive hand riveter then I do with that one. It goes on sale pretty often to so keep an eye out for that.

I'd go for the Makita 18 volt or Panasonic impact. I'd stay away from Dewalt there just yellow black and deckers. We had quite a few Dewalt products at work and just got sick of them between the tools breaking and the batteries dying. They make a good radio though we still have that. try www.internationaltool.com

Burned off the jaws on 2 of those red chinese rivet guns from Harbor Freight over the years working on race cars. Good guns. Last one I was in the middle of a job when the jaws stripped. Had the wife go pick me up a cheapy gun. She came back with a green Farmhand brand from TSC. It's light and quick !
I was in the middle of siding my gooseneck trailer when the chinese one took a growler. Had to pull the trigger 3 to 4 times to pop a rivet. The new one seems to pop the rivet before I get the lever squoze the first time. I think the jaws grip pull range is longer.
I don't use electric air ratchets, can't offer advice there. I use snap-on electric impacts though.

I use the Makita lithium 18v for the impact. It came in a combo kit that I bought from Home Depot and works great.
Rivet gun that I like is the Huck. It has an air hammer type of pull instead of the standard long pull of most rivet guns. Expensive, but gets them nice and tight.

"Thats what she said".

another for Harbor Freight Riveter....hundreds of rivets, no issues...
