please i need honest help. pro rmk or etec!

The RMK would be my choice but ride them both and buy the one YOU like the most. Do not worry about which one will break, all sleds break down at one point or another. We constantly flog the piss out of them and they break, I have owned every brand and managed to have something go wrong with every one of them, constant maintenance helps but then my old lady gets bent because I spend all my time with my sleds. Thinking about that I could cut my bills way down without her, work a lot less and ride that much more.... there is merit to this line of thinking..........Pick the sled that suits your riding style and ride it.

You can't get a straight answer on sleds that have been out for years....how the hell do you expect to get one on sleds most people haven't even RIDDEN yet?

Polaris - Lots of new everything, feels like a great riding position (for me, this will vary with personal preference).

Doo - Lots of new engine stuff, chassis refined from a chassis that was already great. A little more weight, rider position is love it or hate it.

Cat - M sled keeps getting better. The problem is - if you didn't like the rider position and ergos 6 years ago - not much has changed.

Reliability with sleds is a crap shoot. All brands seem to have their good and bad days. They're all close enough in power that it'll matter more who's riding it.

Last Friday I was lucky enough to spend over 4 hours in the trees on a Pro RMK, I have rode Doo's for 6 years now and have enjoyed them.

The tree riding on the Poo was the funnest I have had on a sled for quite some time. It was RMK 3!! and that sled gets on top of the snow and keeps climbing and climbing. The hardest thing I struggle with is carving, sidehilling, and boondocking on the right side of the sled. Not with the Pro RMK, once I got it to lift a ski I could ride on the right just as easy as the left.

The funny thing is I did not like it at first, not at all. I rode it for 5 min the first time and put it in a tree and then got stuck, so I gave it back to the rep with the intentions of never getting on that POS Pro again. He had to leave early and wanted me to ride it some more so he gave me a Motoman the sled and took my 07 rev down to the trailer.

After about 40 minutes of learning how to handle this sled I can say that I am glad that rep did what he did. I learned how the sled would react to my body language and had the time of my life. While I had the Pro I wanted to drop into a drainage where I see sled marks from the highway which is about 2 miles way.

It was steep and the Pro just layed over with ease. we dropped down into the trees around 300 yards turned around and then pointed them back up this steep hill. Motoman was on a 09 Dragon 155 and I was on the Pro. The thing about this sled is the ability to get on the snow, not wheelie and pull like a freight train. It went up this hill that my XP would not have made it up. Motomans 09 Dragon got half way up the hill and he had to sidehill it over to the not so steep part just to get his sled out of there.

Power wise compared to my 09 Doo I feel like the XP has much more power. But the ability for the Pro to stay on top of the snow and not trench is insane. And after the steep hill we went back into the pines below and that is where the Pro shines compared to any other mountain sled out there. JMHO!!:face-icon-small-hap
