Finally got the motor back from the performance guru, and had it installed back in the frame within a couple hrs...also bolted on the Diamond S chromo sub, and mocked in the Zbroz front end along with West Coast light weight steering post. These pics are of the recent progress, and a close up shot of the titanium post kit which adds strength to the high load area of the sub.

Nice Nikes! They match the sled lol!

Are you changing the cam's at all?

Not changing the cams, I ran out of time and patience looking for aftermarket options to fit this application, and the stock ones should be sufficent for now.

Here are some new pics of some recent free time:

-new high perf. dual electrode plugs installed
-K&N race spec oil filter installed
-changed from 3 to 4 wheel rear axle
-PC3 mapped and installed
-tunnel protectors installed
-C&A Pro Outlaws mounted on Zbroz spindles. This combo weighs exact same as stock ski/spindle at 11lbs each.
-Fox evol floats mocked in place. Shocks are inverted to accomidate the Zbroz A-arm mounting points, also waiting for the new updated upper arms to return from Zbroz...

I realy like the 4 wheel kit. IS that from ez-ryde?

This thing is going to be sick....and all i can say is, i hope your fast, just not as fast as me :face-icon-small-ton it will be very interesting to say the least. In a strait drag you should be DAMN fast.

Also, you ould loose a few pounds by just doing a tunnle dump/no muffler?

almost looks like a sled again

The 4 wheel kit is not from EZ Ryde, I built a 3 wheel first, and then decided 4 would be better. I have seen these before on other race sleds, but not sure if anyone is mass producing them.

PICS:
-finally got the front suspension all buttoned up....ski stance measures 45" ctc...ground clearance is only 9" because I am using 17.5" instead of 18" shocks,... this helps to minimize A-arm "droop", and mantain lift so the sled can pack the skis across rocks and holes more effectively.:fear:
- new Zbroz uppers with caster adjust spacer.
-headlight delete hood screens fabricated and installed, 3+ hrs later:Cry:
-couldn't resist placing the hood on the sled after hanging on the wall since April.
- Last pic is for anyone who is curious what Nytro balance shaft counter weights look like outside of the engine:spy:

so all you did was just cut up the aluminum spacers between the wheels?

I like it alot, it isn't very often i get excited about a 4 stroke with no boost. Very good job, i can't wait to see the finished product! It's awsome because it isn't just a stock sled with a turbo like most yamaha "mod" sleds are. I dig it cause you didn't just follow the pack. :pop2:

I run a reversed A-20 with screws, just not cut down, I'll say that in the spring time it WILL get you into trouble! There really isn't a whole lot that will run beside one in the packed snow!

Awesome build, looks like it should be a lot of fun!

more boring pics

Back ordered parts finally started arriving last week, and I was able to get some more tedious progress accomplished. This thing is SLOWLY coming together, but still has a ways to go yet before I can get it out for some test and tune sessions.

Here are some photos showing the new Team tied roller conversion kit complete with replacement jackshaft,...Aaen exhaust header before and after installation,...K&N filter kit installed,...and before and after pics of the EZ ryde installation. The gearing pic shows the reverse delete 18-41 gearing vs. the mechanical reverse setup with 19-40 ratio. I lost 10lbs right there!

I feel like some of these build photos that show all the ins and outs are starting to get a little monotonous, but I am also excited that the next round of pics will be more visually engaging and relateable to those of you still tuned in to this thread...:brick:

Do the k+n's still retain the stock intake runner length and dimension or is it changed?

From the point of draw to the throttlebody (length) is about the same as the stock airbox because the intake elbows are still used with this system. The intake surface area is pretty substantial with all three filters drawing 360deg. instead of from a single location. As long as the ambient air temp around the filters is continously fed by colder flow from outside the hood, the HP gain (3) should hold up. Regardless, with the increased ability the engine has to move air internally, this kit will feed more air into the engine, and work together with the larger dia. exhaust sytem to provide a zero restriction free breathing set of lungs, and pumping loss will be minimal when compared to stock.

BURNING THE MIDNIGHT OIL

ISR compliant clutch guard,...I had to mount it outside of the side panel because the clearance inside on these Nytros' is non existant. I don't know how the factory snocross sleds did this, but I would like to see one up close to find out.
RSI carbon fiber race bend bars on top of a 4" riser.
More to come soon...

FINALLY!

Sled is 95% complete. Just need to fabricate ISR legal brake guard, get race spec EZ Ryde rails installed, and bolt on my traction products. You may have noticed the Attack 20 has been ditched, and I went back to a Maverick. This one is the 90 duro single ply though, and it will allow for a higher screw count compared to the A-20. I hope to get this thing dynoed and hung from a scale this week.:biggrin1:

DYNO RESULTS.

My contacts at Trinity Racing had arranged for me to meet one of their distributors at a quad shop outside Phoenix AZ on Wed. Conditions were prime with cool temps and low humidity, and the 6 hr trip was about to pay off. After 3 pulls on the portable, the sled averaged 183.3 corrected brake horse power(CBHP) @9000 RPM. Torque measured in at 117.1 LBFT @7100 RPM with 115 LBFT at 6700RPM, and falling off to 112 LBFT at 7400RPM.
We also managed to get it weighed on a flat style ground pressure scale. With approx 3 gallons of Sunoco 112 in the tank, and all other fluids topped off, this thing checked in at 502lbs. Keeping in mind that I still have to add screws and hooks to the track, and install a brake guard, the realistic race ready wet weight should be danger close to 505lbs. I still plan on getting some pics of this thing hanging from a digital scale after all is said and done. Time will tell if positive dyno readings, and wieght stats will translate into a competitive race sled,...:whip:

Bravo to you for being different. Sounds like the sled makes good power and isn't too overweight either. I wish you the best of luck this season.
