Hey 900. I think we saw ya there on sat. We were in a group of 8 in the first valley, 3 Yammi's two Cats two Ski doo's and a Poo. We were doin the highmarks in the big bowl at the end of the glacier. AWESOME DAY!!! Blue bird sky and untouched powder!!!!
I feel ****ty for not havin pics. Left my camera in the truck. My buddy brought his, but with dead batteries got off one pic!! The river bed sucked big green donky dick, but once we climbed into the valley, it was unreal!! Foot or better of fresh on a good base, and you could hook up forever on the hills. Some of the climbs were movie worthy. Definately a new fav spot to ride..

It wasn't me at Placer. I drove right past it when we saw how windy it was and went to Turnagain. Being new to Placer I didn't know where to go and wasn't about to venture around in those conditions without being with someone who new the area. Turnagain was great with about a foot of fresh everywhere and NO WIND Still trying to get to Placer, guess I will have to wait until the next round of snow hits. Sounds like you guys had a great ride. Here's a pic from Turny on Saturday.

No problem man. i thought it was you cause we saw a couple of guys on polaris's (one of which I thought was a 900 rmk) lookin like they weren't sure where to go. We didn't have to much of an idea either. It was my first time there. We just headed into the first valley we saw and WOW!! Hit me up next time the weather allows and we'll tear it up. Nice pic from turny. Glad ya got a good day of ridin anyhow.

First trip to Placer this Sat. Will have 2 newbs with me. Anyone going that wouldnt mind showing a few people around? There will be about 7 or 8 of us total and no one has ridden placer before. I know generally where everyone parks at the bottom of Turnagain or over by the creek, but am just planning on following the tracks in right now. It would be great if someone who knows the area would let us tag along.....or at least point out the direction to go.........
hey 907..was there last saturday..the valley floor sucked..no pow..rock hard.if you go up into squirrel flats it had about a foot of fluff..but was pretty tracked up by the time we left....to get up there go up the valley on the far east side and you will see the tracks going up the hill...is a little gnarly getting up (climbing and sidehilling)....sunday went to lost lakes..sucked up top..wind blown and rock hard..and very very avalanche..rode in the trees was much better but was well tracked up ...I am taking the kids to p-ville sat I think..hopefully snow is still good up there.

snow was alright just rode around a lil bit, goin tomorrow with a group of 5-7 meeting, so anyone else that wants to go to squirrel flats hit me up, we'll be a group of 2 or 3 iq racers, summit rev, f7, and probably an m7. hopefully it warms up a bit! see ya guys up there tomorrow. 252-9562
well almost everyone backed out 4 tomorrow lol. sounds like its goin to be another chilly day, i am still down to go unless its below zero again, don't feel like adding on the frost bite even more. but maybe i'll see ya guys up there. i am wakin up at 8 to check the temps. good luck if i don't see ya up there.

Needs More Snow and smarter people.
Rode yesterday, went up on Skookum, it was fun. Fog early AM... burnt off tho. Was the second truck in the parking lot. After burning a tank went to leave but everyone parked like geniuses. Some other guys left the same time as us which gave us a way out..... had that not been the case the tow strap would've made its parking lot debut.

Where to ride?
Anyone ridden squirrel flats this week? Rode there last Saturday, snow was good, but too damn cold. Thinkin about heading up in the AM just curious as to whether its worth it.

yea is there a base on the marsh on the way out to placer??? i just want to play in some snow without hitting the bowls at turny.... hatchers sounds like no good and have not got much snow since i was last there. petersville is further than i want to drive so i might be at placer tomorrow with a black chevy on 22s with a sledbed

Just got back from Placer...it was a blizzard out there left the first parking lot at 11, got back around 4, and it took us 2 hours to get back from the glacier entrance. Visibility was about ten feet so we had to follow the train tracks all the way back, which became a task in itself because they were buried. We didnt even attempt to make it up to the flats, just rode down low all day. Once we got back in the trees and out of the wind, we had a blast. I would say there was atleast 2 to 3ft of fresh snow back there and it was dumping when we left. Should make for some great riding once the weather clears up!
On the way home we saw an 18 wheeler flipped over on its side...hopefully no one was seriously injured, but it looked pretty bad.
