what Joa said is totaly true. rock the sled back and grab the brake before you put in in reverse. works every time! im sure adjusting the linkange would help but ive never tried.

holy ****g that guys is messed up freek right out on a reverse and it is a poor design i dont care what anybody says i have one and i should know who let this guy in anyways lol:eek:

What a bunch of fricking cry babies. How about selling your Nytros and buying a 2-stroke? Then you can post how big of a POS the RER/PERC systems are when your engine dies in the middle of switching from forward to reverse.

It isn't THAT hard to shift the sled into reverse.

Oh, BTW, I didn't design the system or work for Yamaha. Maybe a little bit of patience would go a long way next time you're throwing a temper tantrum about reverse.

Anyone else reminded of that proverb even a fool can appear wise if he remains silent?

Your completely missing the point, the comment is not about an instruction manual on how to get it into reverse, but thanks for helping enlighten us...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Commenting on poor engineering, and design is by no stretch of the imagination whining and throwing a temper tantrum...blind loyalty because of brand is the epitome of ignorance...

Most of us are commenting because it is not up to par with typical Yamaha design...

Another issue that I just experienced first hand is the poor design of the oil tank...it is not supported enough, and it cracks...LOTS of them are cracking...it is a weak spot...

should we not mention anything about this too?

Your belt is most likely to tight. remove the shims from the three bolts on the back of the secondary. This will unload the drive train and make it much easier to shift.

what is the deal? i tried shutting off motor, some times works. then move machine forward a bit and still a PIA! is there a fix?:mad:the chain is not over tight or loose. really stupid deal.

now i remember why i left this site, bunch of azzholes other than mtdream and a few! started the thread looking for answers not to be called retarded or freaking out, throwing hissy fits! yes it is a bad design but not really so mad i would burn the POS to the ground! have fun with your life retards!:D thanks jeremy!

This is DEFINITELY a big part of the issue...if you're stuck in deep snow and want to throw it in reverse, you need to get ALL of the load off the drivetrain. Sometimes easier said than done. Like TrippleBlack said, grabbing the brake to help isolate the gearbox helps.

I agree Woodies, lots of idiots on SW these days who dont contribute anything, just try to be d!ckheads and stir the pot. Price of growth, I guess.

whats going on

i have only been a member here for a year...but have noticed that alot of guys are laughing at the guys like me who are here to learn..if you think the amswer or the question is not up to your abilities:cool:...then move on,we are not all wizards here:(..and if we were ...we would not need a site like this one to give us info on the thing we love:p...are we not all in love with our sleds..do we not all have something in comon.. if anyone is haveing a bad day. or is not happy with what is said ...then say nothing...i am here to learn from you guys ...:face-icon-small-win about sleds...i can fight and insult my brother,...no need to come on here...now back to the thread...have trouble with the wifes attack when we drive in powder with it...have to pull really hard..to get into reverse

agreed this has got to be the stupidest setup I have ever seen:mad:

Dave, I never had a chance to try and adjust the linkage on the sled. but yes, it was a pita to get the ol girl in reverse. it seemed sometimes I would try and move the sled ahead and back 4-5 times before I could get it to engage.

how's the sled running??

My push button reverse works flawlessly!

Maybe you yammy guys should ditch the antiquated levers and gears and move to a nice modern two-stroke!

:face-icon-small-win

that would only make their problems worse.

my reverse linkage was hitting the footwell bracketry too.....this made it very difficult to get into reverse.

AND....the sleeve behind the handle freezes....spraying some oil in there eliminated the freezing. I broke the plastic handle off due to this freezing....bummer.

Are some of you guys retarded? No, honestly, are you retarded?

I am confident that is the issue...thanks for your genius intellect and your razor sharp skills at winning friends and influencing people...

thread that got the rep...hmmm wonder who might have given me neg. rep?

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!! the reasoning/logic of some people just makes me laugh...

Some genius...decided to give me red rep for my comments in this thread...oh and wasnt man enough to populate his signature...

funny, I chose to just say what I thought and post it, not hide behind some childish grading system...

:D:D:D
