Phazer Turbo Help!

Working on a Phazer with MCXpress Turbo kit installed for a guy from Ohio. The sled seems to be hitting the rev limiter at about 7000 RPMs and then will clean out and pull hard and then fall on it's face the next pull. I don't work too much with the rear mount turbo so I don't know if this is a characteristic of this system or not. It has nasty lag, which I thing is rear mount related. Any input would be appreciated.

FUEL! Sounds like you are low on fuel. The kit has a set of injectors which you will need to use, some people tried it without, you need them, and mine was still lean so we put a dynojet system on it and it works better than any other turboed phazer I have seen yet. The lag is most likely caused by the ehad shim. My sled did not have the shim at first, almost no lag! But I didnt want to use race fuel mixed so I went to the head shim for 91 octane and it changed it big time. I am trying to sell mine, but if it doesnt, the shim is coming out. I am no expert, but mine was installed by one, and it hasnt skipped a beat from day one, so it is definitly something with the install.

Sounds right disco-my sled is set at 10 lbs boost with no head shim-very little lag and i mix 1 gallon of race gas per tank kind of cheap insurance but you could turn up the boost with more race gas but will loose reliability. I still consider mine a turn key sled. Loose the head shim and enjoy-also if you snorkel the air intake out for under the seat it will work much better other wise it sucks in hot/steamy air.

Moving the air filter out from under the plastic is MANDATORY!! It will run fine on the trails, but put it in the powder and she will have the same symtoms. If it's a new install, I would not do the shim(I will be pulling miine out). If the sled has been sitting, put in new gas. Also, the MCX muffler has been rumored to be restrictive. I never used it, so I'm not sure on that one. It sounds like mine before I moved the aire filter out from under the seat plastic.
