New to the whole PC thing. Is it worth putting one on a 08 D700, what kind of HP gain can be expected?? Can you use the PCV or only the PCIII on an 08?

I have a PC 3 on my 2007 700 DRAGON, for the last 1200+ miles, and LOVE it. Mid range flat spot is gone, sled is more easily "driveable" on the trails, plug reading is dark cardboard brown, used to be black before, accelerates better, gas mileage is about the same.

DYNOTECH JIM has the CORRECT maps available for the 700 with stock pipe and SLP single, he dynoed a 2008 700 on Jan 1, 2008 and developed the maps from there.(XC8 on www.hardcoresledder.com)

www.dynotechresearch.com (585) 993-2777 Jim approx $365.00 with the CORRECT mapping included.

I suspect they're going to phase out the PC-3 and I would recommend the PC-5 as that way you could always upgrade to the Autotune , for an additional $250.00 later if so desired, other than that the PC-3 And PC-5 are similar.

Pc5

I took some advise from Kraven and got the PC5. It's smaller more upgradable and almost the same price. Just to give you an idea of additional horsepower... I rode around with the stock map all day and wanted to feel the difference of the pc5. I plugged in the PC5 out on the trail and immediately did a full acceleration pull. Call it coincidence but my belt broke during that pull.

Pc5?

So did you have a spare(belt)? Did you run it after that or leave it on the side of the trail? ha! What was the difference in acceleration? Did you run against someone else? Any info? My bro has the PC5 for his '08 700 and I was looking at autotune...

Had no other sled in that category to race with. Just threw on another belt and ran it for a couple more hours. I really noticed a smoother mid-range the most and it did feel as if it had a little more balls. So hard to tell though. Also the plug color was perfect. I also noticed my rpms were consistently 50-100 higher

Anybody have any input/info on this?

I have a PC V on my 700 RMK and it works pretty good. Basically, it's an electronic way to jet your sled. I don't get "turbo boost" when switching maps but I do pick up 50-150rpm depending on snow conditions, pipe temp, and ambient temp. If you want a starter map let me know and I will give you what I have made with my autotune stuff and you can play from there.

d7 with slp @ elavation

i ran the pcIII in my 08 d7 with the slp pipe and it ran great stayed right along with the d8's, pulled a plug and it was nice and brown. but the second time i went it was warmer and it seemed a little lean pulled a plug and it was almost white. no silver though luckily, can't see any damage when i pull the exhaust valves. The only diff was the temp so i dont know if the sled over compensated for temp or what. I am running the slp map from dynotech. It doesn't make sense though cause the first trip it ran so much better i had to run heavier weights. and then it was lean. i dunno

Did you check your TPS setting before you installed it? I haven't read a lot about the controllers, but I'm guessing that could make some difference; however, I wouldn't think it would change from one day to the next.

I was thinking you could load two maps into the controller. If so, would it make sense to have a warm and a cold map.

Do the ethanol wires do anything on the '08s? I didn't think my manual said anything about them
