Parking in the snowies 1/31

I posted a thread last year titled "parking etiquette". it had a similar response. I must say i rather pull my rig forward or on the road to load up than wait for some asz hol* to move his rig that double parked on on me.

I might get stones thrown at me here but F**k it.

I am from Iowa and have been riding in the snowies and all over the area (jones pass, Pinndale, the ears, madres, etc.) for over the past 10 years. I know many locals in Laramie including Wyogeorge that I have meet through out the years. Every body knows theres a problem. I think some of you guys need to sit back and see the ignorance from both parties and not just George. By stating you have more money then others is B.S. in my mind. Just cause you have a motor coach and a big *** trailer dont mean you can park like an idiot. Some may have the same setup but choose the night life in Laramie rather then the cold windy parking lot. If you want I could bring our 40ft race hauler up to the top but we choose not to. Why would I bring our race trailer when our Shi7 gets f**ked with already.

For example a few weeks back We where one of the first trucks to unload we parked at the very begining of the south side right after the 130 turn around. The rear of our 28' trailer was 2ft past the no parking sign tight up against the snow bank as far as one could go. Our buddy parked in front of us with is 4 place open trailer leaving about a 6' gap just enough to load back up at the end of the day. We rode pretty much from 9:00 am to about 5:30 or 6:00 When we get back our trailer is jack-nifed and half way into the road. Rear corner of the trailer is trashed jacked into the rear bumper of the truck and the truck is pushed into our buddies open place trailer.
Shi7 wrote all over the glass in permanent marker "read the sign you flatlander F**k" "Learn how to park you shi7 head" with a little note on the wiper written on paper "The guy that hit your truck was ---- and his number is 307-***-****. So we called the number numerous times and left numerous messages yet no response.
That is the type of Shi7 that I can not tolerate. Have a good day of riding and come back to that. Maybe wyogeorge might be venting but when people park like that motor coach was parked and people vandalize your vehicle that is childish and hiding behind computer screens.

Was that motor coach parked wrong in my mind YES Have I seen numerous similar haulers up there and managed to park differently Yes and I have rode with them quite a few times and they are from Chicago and a great bunch of guys to ride with.
Would I ever vandalize this so called bad flatlander's parking job NO but I would confront him if I would have seen him that day and simply asked him if next time out try and park differently so everybody wins.....????

Do I know George????? Yes. Do I think he really deep down means we all need passports to ride in his "STATE" No but when you get him on the booze he might bring out the comment :beer;:beer; Only in good humor though. Is George a young punk hiding behind a computer???? No the Bar fight the other night prooved that:eek:

Throw the stones but not at my vehicle please.

Did you report it?

oh wyogeorge

Sorry it was early. I am not always this wound up just when I have to deal with attitude about being courteous.

I have read this whole thread. I am from Minnestoa and ride the snowies once a year. The land is payed for by all Us citizen's . I don't like being called a flatlander and being told to stay home or ride elsewhere. So I did some research for you.

Wyoming tourism is the second largest industry in Wyoming. Just the tourism board employee's number 37,823 . The lodging industry in Wyoming is the largest private sector business in the state.

Your total state revenue is 88% based and carried on guess what ? TOURISM ! That translates to people coming out to do things in Wyoming

On the parking issue . It's sounds like a problem. But name calling and being ignorant isn't going to help. Saying your going to do something to people or their property is foolish. Telling people that their not welcome just shows your an idiot.
Lets see if we can educate people on the issues of parking effectivness.

On a side note all the people we lodge with and run into in Wyoming are super people. So don't be afraid to go and enjoy the area.

I think you need to double check your information. Wyoming in NO WAY gets 88% of its revenue from Tourism. I agree it is a big part of our state.. But we are a Energy State. We have oil, natural gas, and oh yea the biggest coal mines in the Nation. Sorry but your facts about Wyoming and Tourism is not correct. We rely way more on Energy, oil, gas, coal then we ever will on Tourism.. That is South Dakota!! Our energy supplies many more jobs for Wyoming people then Tourism.

But please continue to come see us and ride the MTNS.. We like your $$ and take a tour of one our many coal mines, and you will see first hand what I'm talking about! :D

Have a good winter !
And turn your heat up in your house, we will keep the coal and gas coming!!:D:D

Hmmmm? Looks like there are inconsiderate bastages everywhere. My truck seems to attract the morons in droves and I usually ride RE Pass here in Colorado. And yes, those idiots are almost always from out of state.

In January I had a buddy get hurt and I had to take him to the ER. When we arrived back at the MC Lot I found that some azzclown had parked at a 90° angle directly in front of my truck, making it impossible to drive out frontwards. I had to back my truck out of the lot, not an easy task with an enclosed trailer.

I have an idea Wyogeorge, how bout you tell me what you drive and next time I'm up there with MY RIG that has obviously got you very upset, must be JEALOUSY cuz you have a piece of sh*t setup, we can meet up and i will knock your fu**ing teeth down your throat and break your fingers so you cant type anymore. You seem really tough on your computer putting everyone else down, why dont you back it up!
You do realize that this post right here could be admissible in court as evidence, right?

Maybe you should post up what you drive so the county sheriff can get a very accurate description...

Just out of curiousity... I found this on a Wyoming business website...

Wyoming’s #1 Industry (and taxpayer): Mining
In 2004 Mining contributed $5.99 billion to Wyoming Gross State Product, or 25% of all private industry in Wyoming. (Total GSP from Private industry: $20,606,000) Mineral Production is taxed as property tax, although it is in fact a severance tax based on market value of the natural resource being severed. Wyoming taxes minerals at 100% of value, unlike “other” property taxes, which are taxed at rates between 9.5 and 11.5%. In the end, because of higher valuations than other lands and higher tax rates, mineral production ends up paying 94.4% of all “property taxes” paid to the State of Wyoming.

Wyoming’s #2 Industry: Tourism for economic impact when considering the $2
billion in spending. (Source Lynn Birleffi , Executive Director, Wyoming Lodging & Restaurant Association)
In 2004 Tourism contributed $94 million to state and local tax receipts.

State Sales - State - $35.2 million
State Sales - Local - $14.8 million
Local Sales - $16.8 million
Lodging Tax Local - $4.8 million
Gasoline - $22.6 million

I probably know a little more about economics than you do. Your talking about jobs ? You think more people work in mines than in hotels, restaurants, and truck stops ?
You better check your facts !

You talking about selling natural gas, coal?
Those things considered minerals and natural resources
Take a guess at who really owns those!
You can look up the facts on the web.
Just because you get paid to process those things don't give you a claim to fame.
My garbage man processes my garbage every monday morning but he don't wave a flag praising himself. Its just a job just like every other.
And we keep the shop extra cozy and warm around here with a little golden heaven (called corn)

N:)ot to call the kettle black but you just told Wyogeorge not to name call, and you just called Wyogeorge a Idot. I agree with you lets not name call, were all sledders here just hoping for more parking.

Your right i just did it and didn't realize it . So thanks for the heads up. I'm frustrated that people think that when you come from out of state that your automatically an as***le or an idiot. We lodge on the mountain when we come to the Laramie area. So i don't have a problem with the parking nor do I see it.
Sounds like a cluster F$#$ to me and I wouldn't like being boxed in when I wanted to leave. Seems the Laramie area has the biggest problems with parking and vandalism . Im sure some will go elsewhere after hearing of this BS.

Yah, know I read through this thread one more time... I have came to a couple conclusions...

1.) Wyogeorge has taken enough of a beating already. I think it is time to put that to rest. I think he has.

2.) After reading the thread, I can sympothize with the "locals". I believe if I lived around there and had to deal with the parking issue I would be very frustrated too. Maybe even come on here and say some things I shouldnt say. I hope, that if I show up there, and start to park wrong, someone politely says "hey, can you move".

We used to ride the Snowies a ton, but rarely on the weekend. So, I dont know all the problems, but hope a resolution can be found soon. I hope everyone stops bickering. Focus that energy on figuring out a way to make things better. I have a lot of great memories there. Heck it was the first place my wife and I rode together. I hope its not ruined by something like parking...

EDIT: BTW whoever sent me this negative rep... "It isn't about where you live, its about following the rules... " and didnt sign it... gutless bastar?, please send me a PM so we can discuss our positions on the situation... Thanks...

I would bet my house, sled, truck, trailer, and the wife that more people in this state work for either a coal mine, or in the gas and oil industry then some gas station, hotel or restaurants. That statement you made right there just proved you have no idea what you are talking about. Come out here and take a tour. I know for a fact that just one mine in my County employes more people then all the hotels, gas stations, and restaurants combined in the county! That is just one mine, and I have not even started to think about oil and gas, and all the other mines!

So Mr. Bobflame, not to be rude or sound like a jerk, but the bottom line is Wyoming would be just fine, with out tourism, and you don't know what you are talking about :D Well except maybe West Yellowstone, but hey I have already seen that.. haha:rolleyes:

You can do all the speculating you want ! Go and do the home work and read up on the facts then we can have a good educated discussion. Not trying to be a jerk either. You guys sure do get defensive about your state. So you can understand why i joined in on the discussion in the first place. It's a well known fact that every state has the largest number of work force in the hospitality fields . That's just the BOTTOM LINE my friend. Like I said do the homework . I do know what I'm talking about. It's you on the other end speculating from what you see out your window that doesn't have a clue. Have a nice day :)

Can you post a picture of your wife, before I decide on whether to take you up on that bet or not?

I know the facts because I have lived here for over 30 years, and my career is and has been in a energy field. Yes I may sound defensive about my state. But you don't have a clue what you are talking..

How about this.. I know because I was looking on the internet that Minnesota only sales 1% of all the boats sold in the dakotas, wyoming, and minnesota.. Even though you have 10 thousand lakes. haha. see how stupid I sound.. Don't get defensive now !!

Just because you sat on your azz and looked on the internet doesn't mean you know what you are talking about.. Like a said all along come out here, take some tours, and learn for self..

Otherwise, go ride your sled and quite talking about states you don't live in and know nothing about!
