Parking in the snowies 1/31

What about that flatlander from nebraska that took up 4 spots at greerock. Busyest weekend so far this year and some jerk parks his big RV and trailer in the middle of the lower lot. Thanks a****. Does anywhere else have snow? Please some of you out of staters go somewhere else. And yes I live here pay taxes here and have to deal with all of you trash year round when you go home. Sell the sled and buy whatever your state has to offer.
Gee Sir... I hope you are not referring to all of us out of state flat-landers. I take great care when parking at Greenrock as not to inconvenience anyone. If that means parking all the way down and out of the way thats what we do. As for going somewhere else to sled, I dont think so. I've lived out West (Utah) and always welcomed out of state riders with open arms. Always found it better not to stereotype others by the tag on their vehicle. BTW. I pay federal taxes and have also served my country in some of the biggest armpits this world has to offer. I believe that I have earned the right to go where I want when I want in this great country of ours. I always respect the people in your great state and expect the same in return. If you ever see a blue Ford w/NE tags and a USMC sticker in the back window pulling an enclosed fourplace just feel free to stop by. I'm willing to sit down with you and a cold beverage and discuss your grievances. Until then: Be Safe!

This is America and it belongs to all of us. We all share the responsibility and have the duty to be respectful no matter which part we are in at any particular time. Especially in popular places with little space. Just my opinion.

Very well said. You seem like a level headed person. I am too, just dont like accusations flying around like that. Especially when I have spent so much money there and am respectful.

I may be as guilty, as the people that are being complained about. I had no idea of the rules at Albany, frankly I dont remember seeing a board up. We have only parked there twice. Typically we ride during the week. If there on the weekend we usually try to park with plenty of space. I think typically we have parked down towards the ski area.

I may be putting my foot in my mouth here. Why not putting some effort into educating? so everyone knows the rules... Also, I know the parking on the weekends is terrible. I assume there is a club in Laramie? Maybe some assistance with parking on the weekend? Have a donation can for people to donate to the cause... Just thinkin out loud, and giving suggestions....

So your the people that ripped the wiper blades off, turned the mirrors around backwards, pizzed on our door, stole personal property, trashed our p/u, and etc. says alot about your charactor. We have been coming to the snowies since the early 90's and never seen this sort of treatment. now that we have astablished who did the vandalism we will be getting ahold of the authorities.Good thing we took pic. before we left!!

Just out of curiosity, what exactly do you have a photo of? Why don't you post it. I think it's messed up that someone vandelized your truck and if you have some proof of the damage and who may of done it then you should post it. If it's not conclusive evidence, be cautious that you don't shred someone's reputation. If it is, they deserve to publicly burn.

No grievance here other that the recepiant of your post, but can I take advantage of this :beer;while discussing anything??:face-icon-small-win

Hope you had good sledding

Frankly, even living there, I could not tell you what the current signage is, other than the parking arrangement sign. I'll try and take pictures of the lot signs and post them for our information.:D

I lived in laramie all my life till last jan when i moved to the other side of the state. Guys have always had a b*t@h about others. But untill it happens to you most just dont care. Parking has always been bad at greenrock. Its doesnt seen to be getting any better. Something needs done. I rode this weekend and it was nuts up there. It was so packed we came home two days eairly. On saturday when we left i pick up a bag of trash that someone just left on the side of the road. In state or out of state thats crap. How many others drove by it? We all love to ride and need to learn to get along. Both sides of the fence. JUST MY 2 CENTS

BLAA BLAA BLAA summitxtreme is the a-**** that thinks he has money he can disrepect all of the rest of us by taking up as much parking as his rich A** wants. Yes I am putting everybody with out of state plates in the same catagory because attitudes like his. If you thinking that the few dollars snowmobilers bring to the communtity is what is keeping this small town alive, Stay away for a few years and prove it. I will bet we are still here. All I want to see is to respect everybody up there. You do not see double parking and such going on by locals. We all know how bad it is when you get blocked in. I will not hold myself responsible for damages done if I do. For the person who got vandilized I did not do it or know who did. But be honest what did you do that would have made somebody mad. I have said my piece and just hope next time you are here you will think of somebody but yourselves.

Slight hijack here, George and others have touched on. I've noticed more trash(water bottles, pop bottles and the like) in the lots and on the trails than in years past. I try to stop and pick em up when I spot something. Folks lets leave the mountain cleaner than we found it.(Toward that theme if you happened to find a nice ortovox probe set it jumped out of my backpack.) As for the parking the 90/10 rule probably applies, courtesy and common sense will go a long way.

I picked up a tire at the intersection of 130 and 11(the highways to Centennial and Albany) on the way home Saturday. It's not like it blew out of the back of someone's truck. It was sitting on the side of the road. It's inconsiderate people that just don't care. Now I have to get rid of it. It's B.S.

Wyogeorge you are kind of a deutsche aren't ya:) I have a quick question for you, do actually ride a snowmobile, or do you sit in the parking lot and take inventory on who is driving what and who is not parked properly. It seems to me that you see very little riding with the amount of complaints you have about people parking.

Last time I checked there were no restrictions on the size of vehicle that can park at Greenrock. When driving a setup that is 83' long it does limit which way you can park and where you can turn around. If you do not like someone that takes more than one spot two miles down the hill from the top, then I would suggest getting up a little earlier and parking closer to the top. Heck maybe you can set up a little make shift office up there and really take good notes about who is not parked properly. Meanwhile the rest of us will be out doing what we came to do, RIDE:)

In the meantime if you want to shoot over the make and model of your setup on the mountain, I will be sure to look for it next time we are up their. I would like nothing more then to park our 83' rig right up your azz, that way you would have something to post about on here for a while. :)

Riser 6'6",

I was on the hill pretty early on friday and the upper lot was full forcing us park in the lower lot by you. Everybody in our group agreed that your parking position was going to make a lot of people mad. Your rig took up more room and spots than you might think. Why did you not angle to the highway at all? Why did you not park further to the south allowing people to at least back in at the angle of the lot? Other rigs of similar size have done this in past, in the same lot, and it worked just fine.

A thought for a rig your size. Put a big note in the windshield of your truck letting people know when you are planning on departing. This way if you are not leaving on that day, guys could park closer to you and not be scared they are blocking you in. More people could use the lot and everybody will be happy.

You are right I do not ride much, just about 1500 miles a year. It is incansiderate azzes like you that give people this attitude. I know you don't care because mommy still lets you suck when you need to and daddy never spanked you when you needed it. Get a clue you spoiled brat your actions do not just make me mad but everybody that had to park there also. You park that thing in my way you will know.
I wish that when you send a rep you had to sign it. For all the cowards that do not sign reps.

so does this mean that the only people that can see the ocean are people who live on the ocean, and the only people that live in daytona can go to the 500?? have you ever traveled outside of wyoming wyogeorge??

If it were up to me you would need to have a passport to enter. Yes I have traveled and worked in most parts of the country. I unlike some of the rif-raf that has been coming up here repected others and where they lived while visiting. It does not take many bad eggs to think you need to throw out the whole carton. Sorry to those that do take caution when here.

Wyogeorge, I am sorry to inform you but I have been going to the snowies for 15 years and I have seen WY plates park just as f@Cked up as any other state. So don't think for a moment that its only out of staters. Yes it probably happens more from out of staters but you guys do it too. I see wy plates parking like jack azzs in colorado too. so maybe you should stay out of colorado. You are an idiot. get out of bed a little earlier if you cant handle the parking. Also there is no size requirements of what size rig you can have.

Poodleboy. I do not ride in CO. I also do not park in the upper lot because most of the time you will get double parked in. I have no problem getting up early. My problem is not parking a little down the road, It never was. It is people not considering that other people have to park also. Bring your big truck and trailer up there I do not care. But take up as little room as you need. Do not park in the middle of the lot so everybody else has to be inconvienced.

I understand what you are trying to say. I dont like the way people park either.I just dont like the way you are saying it. It is not just out of staters you locals do it too. So quit acting like you own the mountain. I am glad you dont ride colorado. We have enough jerks here.

poodleboy: If you read my post it was mainly about one rig. I know there are idiots like you every where that do not care about others. I had a friend stuck in the parking lot for 3 hours because he got parked in last weekend. Probely you. I do not care if you like how I say things or not. Talking nice is like putting you in time out. It just does not work. So you get a clue.
