OPINIONS AND FACTS FROM OWNERS of MCX, Powderlites, and other Turbos on the NYTRO

I can only speak for me but i'd watch what dealer you buy thru as my experience has been a total disaster. I'm sure guys like darko will freely rag on me for not researching my purchase enough so here goes. I live 2 hours from any dealers and i'd had enough of my 583 summit getting stuck so i went to buy a new sled and decided i wanted a reliable easy maintenance sled. Voila yamaha seemed to be the leader here so i talked to local yami dealer and told them i was looking for a stock reliable machine. I tried to buy an apex but was quickly told i could buy an rx1 that was 2 years old but had a turbo ( great fun they told me )that was turn key and go and only needed one oil change per year and they hadnt got a turbo back under 20,000km with any problems as i protested that i didnt want a tricked out sled that would cause me problems. what about warranty i asked ? no warranty they said .... no thanks i said.... ok we will warranty the engine for one year because we know our product. After that it wasnt a tough sell as i knew some turbo owners whose faces you couldnt wipe the grins off of. Needless to say the sled never ran right and even paid 600.00 bucks to replace the fuel reg as that wasnt warrantied (turbo part not engine they said) The excuses flowed free and fast ( or lies as i called them) dirt in fuel, water in fuel , stored in a damp place, you need bigger blow off valves, turbos dont like running in march, sled has been left on side for extended periods of time, sled has been left pointed down steep hills for too long, sled has been left out in rain, sled need big air kit , owner abuse by ******* ......... nice. 18,000.00 and nothing but lies and denial ? would i buy a turbo again ? Not only did i get told the owner was tired of owners abusing their sleds and expecting them to repair them he called me a liar and told me the engine was hydraulicing from oil falling into the intercooler from machine being rolled when i have the tech sheet from their shop admitting the engine hydrauliced from too much fuel. Even when i pointed this out to the owner the only response he had was that he wouldnt apoligize for being wrong because in the end its owner abuse that his turbo doesnt work. Not only that but now his "best mechanic in north america " is denying building it. BTW its an mcx ..........do i think mcx is chit....no but i sure do think that dealer is. So folks pay attention to the dealer just as much as you do the brand because good dealers mean more than good turbos. P.S. I will be at yamafest march 28/29 with all receipts plus taped phone calls in case anyone wants to dispute this. Yes im taking him to court and no yamaha canada doesnt care so in the meantime i'm promoting skidoo and everyone i sell brings a smile to my face.THANKS VERNON MOTORSPORTS FOR BEING SUCH A BUNCH OF LYING AZZHOLES.

PSS. DONT TRUST VERNON MMOTORSPORTS THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER.

PSSS. I will be sitting in front of their booth on a really fun sled ( 2006 x package ski doo weraing a purple jacket )

you are right to say that the dealer suchs... but to slame yamaha is not too cool... they are not going to do anything for you and thats because you have done some mods to your motor...i know new tamer and the skid cracked and they said it was the tamer...then a yam mechanic tells me its not the first....anyhow....poo..cat...and anyone else would do the same... i had a summit... and had trouble with the dealer... and I live in the capital of BPR ..Quebec...and it really wasnt the company... but the dealer... and then it was stolen... i bought a yam... and now realize its the dealer:confused:... dealing with another a$$ hole.:...buyer be ware....

I have 1500kms on my MCX Nytro now with 15 good riding days.....10 being in deep fresh and all I can say is I would do it again in a second. Rode it this past weekend for 2 days and my arms still get sore from hangin on:) Havent had the intercooler off once....got the chassis working to handle the power now and its a all out pkg that I love...be hard to ever switch now. Pump fuel and 12lbs is all I have been running and I'm gonna leave it that way:)

So after a winter of driving these turbo Nytros.......................whats working, whats working better then others. It's time that I get some boost.

First Day On The Snow With Impulse Turbo Nytro

WHAT A RIDE! Responsive for sure, the most responsive I have rode yet. Easy to tune and to clutch. Two climbs to fuel tune and 8 climbs to dial the shockwave in. Did a inadvertent cornice drop and no parts went flying or broke, seems tough. I love it so far! 12lbs. on pump gas so far. Cant imagine 15lbs. with race fuel!

yurn key and go turbo's

ok folks heres the real story there are no key turn turbo's .......oh wait i forgot about YOUR dealer ...they wont steer you wrong ..........@#@$ THEM !!!! . Do some research some dealers will help you some will screw you ... cough ..cough vernon ...um what was i saying ? oh yeah research the dealer and if you buy a turbo welcome to intense fun followed by more intense grief and the embarressment of being towed home by skandics ...great fun if you wanna feel like a retard on a day trip and thats to say nothing compared to when you finally talk to your dealer who says your an ******* that rolls HIS (yes he said his ) sled and lies about what happened ( have proof he's wrong....does wrong = nuts ? ) On a closing not don't let anyone named Nick from a dealer in vernon touch your sled.

good luck

Aren't you the one who bought a used sled from them? Is That what this is all about. If it is, you bought used, suck it up, that is the chance you take.

On the topic note. I ran my MCX from 12psi to 17psi for 2500km and have had no problems other than installation mishaps. AKA turbo oil lines run over the jack shaft and wore a hole in them. One thing the MCX kit needs is to get rid of the "automatic boost compensator" and go with a Halman evolution RX PRO boost controller.

I had a great year on my MCX nytro. Never towed home.

850+ miles on my Impulse Nytro.

Ran @ 17 lbs boost for ~700 of those miles.

Ran @ 12 lbs boost since it came into my hands.

Can't comment on being towed prior to me, other than eating a couple belts (by the looks of it), never from my own riding. It has TOWED in ~3 sleds though..

After coming from Doo's, I can't complain much about a 220+ HP sled eating a couple belts in 850 miles.. And IMO, it just needs some help with cooling/vents on the clutch side.
