Has anyone in the forums that works in the oil/nat gas industry seen in major pull backs in production. I have a friend that was supposed to hire on this week and he just received a call that informed him of production cuts and a hiring freeze.
Oil & Natural Gas jobs.....any effect yet?

I know quite a few rigs are shutting down in Utah. In the sidney area, quite a few are shutting down also.
Just about every company I know of in the Uintah basin is scaling back the number of rigs they're operating by at least %50 right now, and the fact that the BLM is now aggressivley pursuing ways to stifle drilling operations even further is going to bet the final nail in the coffin.
The boom that's taken place the last 6 or 7 years in the Rockies is over.
my uncle is a forman and they cant get enough drillers, drills, and workers to keep up.

We were just told this morning that the oil company I'm contracted to in Alaska is pulling the plug on many larger capital projects, and some smaller ones for now. Going to only be working on small capital on O&M jobs for a while I guess.
and those young riggers out of high school blew all the dough on trucks and booze.
YEP, and the rest they wasted.
I tried telling them when i visited syds a couple years back. Course I still took them up on free drinks
around here the big companys have already said they aren't even going to drill a hole next year
