thinking of gearing my nytro turbo up to 21 tooth one tooth from stock. Has anybody tryed this and how did it work out for you. I have tons of power out of the hole and bottom end power i thought that gearing up i might get some more track speed in the deep and steep!? Turbo is a powder lites stage 2 at 14 psi 280hp. Any thoughts!! Thanks:D

gearing

i like it geared down to a 19 top better than stock it had more track speed geared down even on boost, belt ran cooler and was more user friendly it tighter situations. imo thanks

dont mean to steal the thread but whats involved in gearing up/down ? do you need to change youre chain or any thing eles out other than the top gear ?

does any one know what part # to ask for to get a 19 tooth sporket i just called 6 yami dealer ships and they said a 19 tooth sproket was after market ?? do the 19 tooth come stock on an rtx or another model by chance ?

my 19 tooth came in a yammie bag....tell your dealer to open his book and look a little harder.

I geared down to 19 on top too, still getting 80+ track speed climbing I like it much better.

I agree, down is the way to go. much cooler belt.

I'm at an 18 on top. It is not my thing but, I was ripping it across a lake and hit 93 on the odo. Thats with a 162 on it.

The stock tensioner works fine with an 18, so a 19 should be no problemo

I put a 19 tooth on a reverse equiped nytro. Still using same chain. I have a manual at home and will post the part # tonight when I get home for the 19 tooth gear. Any Yami dealer who says they dont have a 19 in the book is a moron!!!

BET THAT THING HAS SOME SERIOUS BOTTOM END TORQUE WITH AN 18:eek:

Confused

Hi Guy's,

Been following this thread and it has me confused. I would have guessed gearing up with the turbo, to achieve higher track speeds? Does the belt overheat when you gear them up? I am running a powder lites stage 1 @ 9-10 psi with a climbing track speed of between 85-100km/hr depending on snow. I was going to try gear it up because my buddies with turbo RX-1's and Apex's are getting 120-130km/hr track speeds in the same snow. What are others getting for track speeds @ 10-12 psi on the Nytro's?

I'm running
8bU' loaded right up in both holes
Shockwave straight helix
14.5mm rollers
Arctic cat Blue wound to 70 degrees

Thanks Sean
