Not every one can afford Klim ? Whats the middle of the road

I buy snowboard gear. But it at the end of the season when shops just want to get rid of it. Get great deals and it is quality stuff.

when its super cold(-10 or worse)
i go:
castlex bibs which are amazing!
then a polaris coat, with my northface fleece(yup the expensive one)
then either a sweatshirt or a tshirt
then underarmor

that altogether keeps me PLENTY warm

I have also had good luck with the Columbia titanium pants and jacket wickers underwear. used for all of my outdoor activities from fishing to sledding. keep an eye on eBay picked the wife up a full set for less than 100 bucks new with tags :beer;

Just an FYI on snowboard gear...

I used old snowboard gear for a couple years and tore the hell out of the pants. They were too baggy and when moving around on the seat I kept ripping out the crotch. Damn baggy snowboarders!

Are the klim gloves any good? I see they make several styles.

That is a crap shoot but the coats, pullovers and pants/bibs are sweet! I have 3 sets and nothing is wrong with any of them except that the older stuff has shrunk, therefore the need to buy new (I buy last years stuff at a mark down price)

You gotta keep the pants pulled up over your boxers. Nobody's pants will last if they are buckled around the bottom of your azz.:rolleyes:

I bought some precision mountaineering gear at a closeout sale in the twin falls mall. It was about $90 for a coat and bibs. I was very impressed with the quality and design. I wear it before my much more expensive gear that i now keep for,,,,,I am not sure why I keep it!

Klim defianltey expensive. But so worth it that i bought a second pair. had 5 years on my first set and they still look new. also use the Klimate gloves and there boots are awsome also.

Yeah I have been looking at Mountian Hardware, OR and now the scott stuff. I like the price and look of the scott. Not sure how well it works.

It sounds stupid but I NEED a pant or bib with belt loops. I also want the coat to have a hood. I what something that will fit numerous roles, I dont ski, but snowshoe from time to time..

I was thinking a good gore-tex shell and a good gore-tex pant.

I keep going back and forth if I want true Gore-tex or if I am willing to take the risk on some other mystery "breathable" fabric............

Its just money............ might as well do it right

Just hard to swallow $600-1000 for snow gear...............

the search continues

I am tall and skinny..........

XL is usally it..........thanks for the offer I will keep it in mind

That is unless you really did chit yourself :D

No chit, but knowing JBB there is some errant man butter scattered throughout them.:eek:
