My parents had one installed in my younger sister's diesel bug last year. They put the best Astrostart in it and are very happy with it. The guy who installed the astrostart usually does 2 a day from Oct. until Mar., but it took him almost the entire day to do the install on this car for two reasons. It was his first time doing a VW which was a little more difficult to do than the domestic cars, and the diesel needed a few more things because of the glow plugs etc. on the car. I also believe they had to tape an extra key inside the steering column for VW's version of pass-lock.
I've had both Clifford and Astrostart brand autostarts in my vehicles. I would pick Astrostart hands down over any other brand out there.
