Rev Barron, I have all you emergency kits marked on the GPS thanks again. I hope we dont need them but its nice to know they are there. Is the last kit still in its temp. location?

When we go riding we ALWAYS bring those items and some other things too! First aid and survival kits. I will definatly mark your emergency kits on my GPS. Thank you for putting those together they could be a life saver. I would hate to have to spend a night in the back country but if I had to your emergency kits would make life much easier. We may try to find them right away so we know where they are just incase? Just curios why noy go into the french creek area?

The area of french creek they are talking about can be tough to get out of even if you know where you are going. Basically if you're by Lake Marie on 130 do not go south of the road (east at that point actually) and don't go up or east of Silver Lake. I had a buddy get stranded down there earlier this year, I got the search and rescue and amazingly he had walked out (dumb idea i thought) but he could hear sleds and went to them. Actually found two other guys that got stranded up the drainage further than him. We were looking for 1 guy and ended up with 3. Crazy night. We let the snow settle and went back 3 days later and it still took over half the day just to get to his sled and back out to the easily accessible areas. He was actually only a little over a mile off of Hwy 130 as the crow flies but it gets way tight in the trees and if it hasn't settled it can be deep.

thanks for the info on this thread! We'll be riding tomorrow out of Green Rock for our first time.
