New Turbo Purchase - T3 163

I'm looking to make a turbo purchase for my 2015 T3 163. I've been looking at Silber and Boondockers kits. Silbers kits are in the mid 3k range when Boondockers are roughly 6k. Why? Other than the brand of turbo, whats the difference and which one would you buy?

Impulse Turbos, is what I would write the check to.

Lots of good memories with Aerocharger and it runs very strong, and if ridden at same elevation will be A great kit over all with out prooblems and there support has been great when needed.. Their fuelling needs some tweaking at different elevations to perfect a/f

purchased a impulse sled at end of last season and got a dozen rides on it, its just as strong or stronger with a fuelling system that corects for elevations and ambient temperature changes.. Rode it from 12000 feet to Revy parking lot at 1200feet with out hiccup and a/f stuck on 12 at wot.. Also had ambient temp swings from plus twenty to minus twenty and no touching anything..

Boost changes is just a turn of a knob, and there latest clutching with toms arms ran a solid 8000 rpm at most boost levels..

Seen track speeds as high as 75mph with the 174 t3 three inch..Part of success I feel is They run a short charge tube and no inter cooler or heavy water/air cooler, and their tested and tuned fuelling system just takes out the Manuel guess work and changes fuelling per Impuse fuel curve

Both kits have worked very well, one costing more than the other but offering more, will not go wrong with either or any of the top kits on the market.. Boost it, TSS also make good kits and are Cdn built

CAD prices

Snow is coming!! I just want to let our friends up north know that we are offering pricing for the industries only Air/Snow E-tec kit for 7,820 CAD and 6,800 USD.

Please stop by the Ski-Doo Booth at Haydays this weekend and check out our display and talk with Carl Kuster and Calvin Felker.

Aerocharger Turbo's

I purchased a Aerocharger Turbo for my 2014 Ski-doo 800 154" sled last year. Let me say working with Brad and Calvin was great very supportive with any questions about setup or calibration..Right out of the box the turbo and clutch setup was spot on.. No tweaking or tuning every ride you go on like other turbos I have been with .
Aerocharger has spent a lot of time and money working with the Ski-doo X team getting these systems running. these turbo systems work they are the most dependable turbos on the market today.. Making a decision to purchase a turbo is a big decision when you look at the cost of what you are going to spend. 5k to 10k ..
The quality of the product and the fit and finish are huge. and the dependability of the product over time you cannot say enough. . nothing worse than being the beta test subject like some other companies put you in. like planning a special trip to cook city Montana. and having nothing but problems with your sled when you are trying to ride. Then end up renting a sled so you can go have some fun.. there are reason why Riders like Carl Kuster and Calvin Felker. ride Aerocharger turbos systems.. and that is why I ride a Aerocharger Systems. I would write my check to Aerocharger.. you pay for what you get...:face-icon-small-coo

I completely agree with highmarker. The aerocharger is an awesome setup for sure. It feels like a stock sled from the bottom until the boost kicks in then it just rips from there. And the wait for the boost is pretty much non existent. Spools super quick.

My vote goes to the guys from Utah.....Turbo Performance! I have over three seasons on my 2012 Etec and it has been great. I believe they have a wide variety of options from mild to wild. I have mine set up with Tom's arms also.

IMPULSE all the way. I've been on or around everything but the TSS and Boost it kits on the ETEC. There is nothing out there that is fueled as well as the Impulse, nothing can compare to it's day to day consistency and rideability. No buttons to tweak, no hiccups, goats, stutters... just smooth clean throttle response at all times. I've been riding turbos for 8+ years and have yet to throw a leg over anything that runs as well day to day everyday. The Impulse kits are not cheap, but when you compare just the components of the kit to everyone else's the value is apparent. You really do get what you pay for.

Owned a Silber, took a bath selling it after constant issues and bought an impulse, it's worth every penny

I recommend Impulse... This is the nearest form of a True Standalone System on the market IMO for the XM. No hacking or splicing a real plug n play with undesbutable reputation.

Impulse

The Impulse kits are the ultimate for the ETEC Doo. Perfect fit n finish. Superior components! Actual Plug n Play! Fully compensating! Clutch kits that work!
Might as well get the Best!

TSS has the best kit for the skidoo by far they have proven themselves many times. The fit and finish is amazing. Just look at the pics and see for yourself. Insta Boost install pic.jpg

boost-it kits are now available in the us through racinstation, great kit that runs perfect day in day out & great support if you do ever have a issue.
so many kits to chose from now,do some reading & research, call all the kit makers you are interested in,have questions ready to ask.
the one that answers your questions the best for you is the kit thats best for you, remember you will be riding this kit so it should be what you want not what a bunch of forum guys tell you you need.:face-icon-small-coo

^^ I agree. Or better yet see if you can get out with some guys and try one out. Over the years on forums I have found you really have to filter a lot of the information you get. Best info I have found is from real world riders that have no affiliation with the manufacturer other than being a customer. I want to hear reviews from people who have spent their own hard earned dollars. My TSS xm is sold now, but have nothing but good to say about them. Have friends that ride boost it stuff and have heard nothing but good as well. Nice having a controller that you dont have to touch, but have the option if you need to.

What are the boost it kits running for fueling? I know Silber was using fule box that you have to monitor and change with conditions and elevation, and that's a pain in the *** to use, kind of defeats the purpose of fuel injection imo.

Boost-it uses they're "boost-it' it fuel box, its fully compensating also as I had one on my nytro, worked awesome plus you can tweak it to exactly how you want it and just ride. I went with another Impulse kit myself for my T3 as I had his system last year on my xm. Fit and finish was exceptional and his fuel box is plug and play literally, no buttons to push or anything and runs perfect sea level up to the 11000' I was at
