New snowmobile rack utilizing LINQ mounts

I'll look into the idea of something simple and effective to secure the latches, perhaps a rubber strap or such to secure the lever. I do prefer to install the LinQ mounts so the lever turns to the rear to lock, so they are not as apt to be flipped open from objects that may be brushed as you are moving forward.

Is that a dog carrier you have?

This is a little off subject but.
Here's a little something I use it for!
Only issue with them is there isent a detent to keep the lever locked! Have occasionally had them come open?
 

Well that just gave you a price point to shoot for. they are similar but different as you say. different strokes for different folks nice looking unit. it looks like yours would collect a little less snow as well letting the snow fall through to the heat exchangers. although aluminum is a good conductor of heat anyway
 
I am in Thompson Falls. I can actually anodize them in house as we anodize many of our products, I just figured most snowmobile's would prefer powder coating. Sometimes the sheet aluminum is difficult to obtain unmarred and blemishes aren't hidden by anodizing, if anything they stand out more. But I'm willing to offer multiple choices, anodized, powder coated, and even raw machined aluminum.

This is a gold anodized part done completely in house.

I see western MT, where are you located exactly? I know a few good anodizers around. Nothing is a sin in my mind more then powdering nice machined parts! Ano'ing nice machined parts makes em look like candy!!
 
Very nice tunnel rack and yes, I would be interested in buying one. I do not mind paying more for a well built, quality part. I would also suggest that you consider going to haydays next fall, to showcase this piece or any other products you may have.:face-icon-small-win

Black is one color of anodizing we do. I am finishing up another project and hope to machine some revised versions within days and have some anodized and powder coated.

I finally got some of these made up and powder-coated. Price for powder-coated ones will be $120 for a single, $230 for the double (just to be clear, the Ski-Doo Linq mounts are not included).Due to the modular design colors of the various parts can be mixed, right now I have black and red.

Now I will move on to taking a look at making versions for the other sleds brands out there

We will do some up with anodized sides soon, I might try to come up with some splash anodized ones too, will post when they are ready. These pictures aren't great, took them inside without good enough lighting so I could get them posted.

You just keep making them better.

Are you going to sell them with the option of having Linq brackets with them, obviously it would cost more but....
 
I'll have to check into whether I would be able to supply the LinQ parts or not. I would assume I can buy plenty of them at around normal retail prices, whether I can buy them to sell with a competitive price is the question.

These weigh (on a very accurate scale) 4.46 lbs. for the double with the LinQ mount installed. The LinQ mounts weigh .205 lbs. each. A single rack will weigh just a bit under 1/2 of the double.
 
A thought, but as handy as you appear to be building things. Couldn't you build your own Linq lever/ latching system to get along with the Doo stuff?
 
sledhead, thanks for the compliment. Yes, I could manufacture a something similar to fit the bases. Besides potential legal issues (e.g. patents) Ski-Doo has invested a considerable amount of money in molds to make these those LinQ parts efficiently, and it would be hard if not impossible for me to make as nice of product competitively so it seems more practical to work with what is available.
 
could a person fit a single and double on a 154? I'm kind of new to the linq system but I have seen a couple where people stacked 3 link mounts on a sled. I thought it was a 154 I seen it on.
