New Sled Hauler...

Yep. I don't think that half ton gasser is gonna do it. Time for Doggy to go diesel. There goes another 60k. Good thing he ain't married cause he wouldn't after those purchases. ;)

I am married and I have a diesel and a trailer...oh, that's right...she makes alot more than me:face-icon-small-win

HOLY BALLS BATMAN...

I THINK THEY OWE ME A PERCENTAGE OF THAT SALE;)

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO PULL THIS BEAST WITH????? Has to weigh in at somewhere around 6,000 lbs empty?

I expect about 5,000-lb ... I'm gonna pull it with the truck I have this winter then hopefully get into a 1-ton diesel for the 2013 season.

My mom won't let me ride alone either, and I don't even ride a Doo. Ill be begging for chaperones soon. I normally go to Cottonwood from the Springs, I tire of that drive up I-25, and the chili at Taylor Park makes the ride home entertaining.

aphoric, we make that chili ride often. Did we happen to cross paths with you last year? We were on the Yamahas, a 2007 Apex and a 2003 Viper

I didn't start riding up there until March, and kept going until the road was cleared almost up to the bowl. I didn't see many people at all up there this year. The only guys I talked to were on cats.

I think you rode with Derek (armysledder) once or twice last year? You are going to have to get used to the I-25 drive cause when you come ride with the real boys this year (that's us by the way;)) it's the way we get to the good riding areas:) You are welcome to come if you think you can keep up;):face-icon-small-hap

Wow, you guys are going to the good areas......Grand Mesa or West Yellowstone? :face-icon-small-win

Grand Mesa is way too far and much to expensive. Vail Pass is where it is at boys! Saturday mornings in the parking lot are ALWAYS good times. If you see us there knock on the door and say hi.

Yeah, Derek and got a few rides in this spring. Never got him out to Cottonwood, but we did hit Jones and Ears. I'm ready, all this rain would be a whole lot of snow. I guess I better put my sled together.

I was talking about Dog. And he will be driving a diesel before Winter's end. Won't take long for him to decide that.

I have a 3/4 ton with a big block, not a half ton. It will pull the trailer just fine, I just won't win any races with it.

Well that's good to hear that at least it's a 3/4 ton:)

Can't wait to see pictures of your loaded up Double R Trailer!!!!

Nope, but that 4MPG will surely screw with your budget. Trust me, been there done that.

I'm expecting 7-8 mpg on flat ground, up the mountain, probably 4, yeah.

I don't think it will be significantly worse than I already get based on previous towing experiences.

My dads trailer fully loaded with sleds and gear weighs about what this one will weigh empty, and I got exactly the same mileage pulling that trailer as I did my old Mirage.

I would think this would probably be a little less than that with the same payload in it, so around 7-8 mpg. Not great, but it's still a whole hell of a lot cheaper than taking on a $1000 a month payment on a new truck then having to buy more expensive fuel for it on top of the payment.

Doesn't really matter either way, the truck I have now is paid off, so its what I'm gonna be using to tow it with for the foreseeable future.

Then have a supercharger installed. I've done the gasser thing and I hated how hard the poor truck had to work just to go up mountain passes
