Dynos are important...but don't just judge it by that.
With it's weight, it doesn't need as much HP.
LMFAO. Spud gave me RED for that?

HAHAHAHAHA....My vote for funniest post of the year!!!! LOL Scott!!!
Fact of the matter is that DynoTech dyno's most every new sled that comes out. The E-Tec and 800HO dynoed at over 160hp fairly fresh out of the box. The Polaris was 143-148. Polaris has claimed 155hp, not speculation. OEM advertising.
As it sits, looks like the under-powered Poo still has a slight power to weight ratio lead on the Doo. But that's a numbers game.
As far as drag racing goes.....my little brother won Junior 600 and Stock 500 Liq on a 440 Fan cooled sled with half the HP......we joke that he didn't have enough HP to spin the track and hooked up from the start.....combination of clutching, gearing and making it all work together is what wins races....not HP.
You know what's lame? The fact that the Pro has out-performed all the other sleds with only 143 HP! LOL
Imagine if it had more power! Again, usable power is more important than one spot where it peaks.
No....whats lame is the ridiculous internet pissing match people get into every time a new sled comes out.
Pick a sled...ride it...have fun......is it that fawking difficult?
HUH? I have several magazines and have not seen any info on this. Only the "My dcik is bigger than you dcik" threads created out of nowhere with biased individuals racing on 8" of snow packed onto a logging road.
They can't even say that it's whooping up on people on other sleds when there is only one guy that has been out everyday on his fleet testing. And those aren't stock either.
I believe he is referring to this: http://www.supertraxmag.com/article.asp?nid=1695&rez=1205&reload=true
Gotta admit, it sounds impressive.
Meh. Trail sleds and grass drags. You got guys running the old School Summit 670s and MXZs that are beating the newer stuff. Frags are all in the setup and clutching.
If peeps are gonna brag up the numbers on ANY sled, then be prepared to do it in the snow, where sleds belong. You can't say a sled is a beast when it's running on A+ traction. Grass drags will make a 550 fan sled seem like a stud.
Don't get me wrong, It's a great looking sled but it hasn't been proven yet. I'm not gonna be a basher here, I just want to see the real results on the two new sleds out this year. The PRO and the Etec
The Rush was STOCK when it won. That means it had the stock track and only changes were fuel/clutching. It was the only way to compare this motor to anything up until now. I'm sure there were other stock sleds there too. I'm not saying this sled is king of the hill, just that this article was impressive in regards to the motor. Not bad for 143hp.

aint that the trueth, all of it[one's just alittle short on power] lmaoIf we believed everything we read in the mags and on these sites.....XP's would be impossible to sidehill, eat belts like tic-tacs and poop cranks for breakfast.....every Polaris 800 would be at the dealer getting updates and the trails would be littered with diamond drives and Cat steering posts.
I only believe what I see on the hill which is far different from what I see reported in the magazine reviews.
They're all good sleds, one's just a little short on power this year
PJ - We are saying the same thing. I agree everything is in setup, but my point was that the Rush 800 wasn't bored, ported, turboed, NOS'd, piped or anything else. It was all in the setup of the STOCK motor. Lynn said himself that he saw better gains through clutching/fuel than some of the aftermarket stuff.
Anyway, I agree...that sled needs some steep and deep to determine how it does. Even if the motor had dynoed at 190, the chassis could suck so bad that it couldn't find it's way out of the parking lot.

Actually, I feel the opposite. It's the internet pissing matches that make this site partially worthwhile to visit. The lack of pissing matches has made this site more boring.
