**New RMK Pro 800 only 143hp***

Quite frankly a very premature statement. Realistically the Pros are barely getting onto the snow. Feel free to make that statement at the end of the season if it is justified. :face-icon-small-dis

Hello Pot, meet Kettle.

It is also premature to go off the dyno and slam on the motor instantly. I was also strictly speaking from the early season shootouts that have already taken place. Several magazines got their hands on a Pro at the end of last season.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. I never made any statements about the pro schooling every other brand or made any slams on the motor. (That would be the keetle calling the pot black as you suggested). I actually just bought one a week or two ago and hope it does perform well. I'm just not ignorant enough to make claims of how much better it is than the competition when it really hasn't had enough snow time to actually know. But nice try on the slam. Better luck next time buddy.

There are well clutched and set up 130 hp 600's that beat "160" hp 800's everyday in the drags. What seams to work on the bench doesn't always equate to what works in the mountains. Obviosly very few people leave them stock, and it has roughly the same potential as the old 800's. Saying that, it is somewhat dissapointing.

I truly don't understand why these threads keep getting started? What do you want the poeple who bought a pro to say, do you want them to get all mad and angry at Poo? Want them to get pitch forks and show up at the factory and burn it to the ground. Want them to call you up and tell you they are so dissapointed and they wish they would've bought an xp and 10 extra belts?

Yeah we bought a snowmobile that doesn't make as much PEAK Hp as the other manufacturers, it sucks but we own them and if they ride half as good as EVERY single report of someone that rode thems says they do, it sounds like we'll be happy.

I guess the only thing all these nut swingers have to worry about is what they're gonna say IF they get out rode and climbed by and underpowerd polaris. That will be embarrasing bring your dyno graphs then...

Dynos are important...but don't just judge it by that.
With it's weight, it doesn't need as much HP.

You got wonder if the prototypes are different than the production sleds, I was hearing 155 hp, I wonder if they had to chop the power to meet emission standards........ With efi, there has to be a simple fix, I bet Speedwerx or someone else will have a simple programming fix for it. The efi motocross bikes are easily moded with fuel programers, I bet there will be something simple to up the HP, you could probably bring it up to 170 hp without a lot of difficulty. Just my 50 cents...

Don't get in a fuss! I sure there will be lots of bolt ons for the new Pro, to pop it up. Myself I have waited on the new sled, to see what comes out next yr.

I would have expected more than that, I hope the poo puts up a fight. But any race sled could have a race map, not legal for any of us, only sponsored sleds along with better clutching and everything else, Like said a 600 setup right has taken out many 800's. I hope that was a bad dyno day, even if a dyno doesn't mean anything the others are pulling a lot more accurate numbers and I would think poo would have it figured out by now, at least enough to get over 150. That just seem to low to be accurate though.

Nobody has ever said what it would dyno at. There was ONLY speculation.

And for so many others......
I don't really care if someone is disappointed by a "143".

I rode all the 2010's last winter in one day. And I rode the Pros just a couple weeks later in the same place with almost identical snowconditions.

I rode one and I was impressed. My opinion was that the 2010s did NOT feel any sharper or stronger. Quite contrary actually.

On a ride in steamboat last year a guy on a vertical escape said "I dont think i have EVER felt under powered, just lack of traction". Later that day a '90's RMK 700 136'' out climbed him. It's more in the rider than the sled.

people still ride N/A sleds??

really who cares.. if the thing holds together i would be impressed, not really worried what they make. im not in the market for new sleds.

I would like to know how many
of the new sleds that polaris sold, the dealer i got mine from said this was the best year in a long time.

HAHAHAHAHA....My vote for funniest post of the year!!!! LOL Scott!!!

Fact of the matter is that DynoTech dyno's most every new sled that comes out. The E-Tec and 800HO dynoed at over 160hp fairly fresh out of the box. The Polaris was 143-148. Polaris has claimed 155hp, not speculation. OEM advertising.

As it sits, looks like the under-powered Poo still has a slight power to weight ratio lead on the Doo. But that's a numbers game.

As far as drag racing goes.....my little brother won Junior 600 and Stock 500 Liq on a 440 Fan cooled sled with half the HP......we joke that he didn't have enough HP to spin the track and hooked up from the start.....combination of clutching, gearing and making it all work together is what wins races....not HP.

Speaking of weight, anybody weigh one yet? Is it true they weigh more then an xp? What about the track.....its not the same trencher from before I hope? I can't wait to try Reid Hedlunds BD turbo pump gas pro.

I rode the new Assault last weekend, that sure doesn't feel like 143! It pulls harder than a 2010 M8 i've ridden and way harder than my 08 M8. If that polaris motor will hold together, I think they made a winner.

Dyno's suck , they a a fiction number that one person puts in. I have been riding a turboed yamaha for the past 3 years , last winter I had it Dynoed and it cam out at a average of 321 hp over 8 pulls , Then my buddies sled was also done with the stand alone fuel system and it dynoed at 352 over 8 pulls. I am running stock skid tunnel seat , He had the works done , vanamberg tunnel , baker skid , boss seat , ect and in the end i would out pull him evey pull , He should have handed my *** to me on a silver plate but couldn't. All im saying guys is it is only a number and oh ya I bought a assult for the socked in days and playing in the tree's and love it so far.
