New polaris sled.

I have it on good authority from 2 different polaris reps that there will be a new polaris sled revealed on the 24th of this month that is a "radical departure from anything they have ever made".

We will see but keep checking out their website in case they r correct!

oh this one runs then eh?

They wanted it to compete with the XR1200 doo.

You might get lucky and see it in a stretched race sled chassis.

This is what I have been waiting for! A stretched IQR with a 1200cc 4 stroke would absolutley make me the happiest sledder in the west. It wouldnt even need to come with a turbo from the factory but if it did that would be a huge plus. I know it wont happen but I still can dream. The IQR mtn chassie would be the best mtn sled in the industry if poo would just build it and put a great motor in it. I love to ride my IQR mtn conversion but the power of my Turbo is just too awesome to pass up.

I can concur on this rumor.

It will NOT be a new chassis, though so don't get your hopes up.

Lightwieght turbo 4 stroke though.

That is what I have heard also.
They want it on the snow before next season to help with the 2010 regs.

Tripple 4 Stroker similar to the Nytro? That's just one of the things I've heard on other sites. In any case, I hope that they take the time and do it up right, rather than another rush job.

YES! I would be in line to snow check one, but I just don't want it to be a Po 900 all over. Hopefully they will offer the same 4 year warranty I got with my D7 in 2007.

I agree with the comments about the likely hood of a 4-stroke to help with 2010 EPA standards.

Whatever it is, it will probably come with wimpy Walker Evan shocks.

That's funny $h!t right there!

Another 600lb 4 stroke is just what we need...........not!

Hope whatever it is Polaris workers pull there heads out and get some quality control back in the shop. Lets see the plastics actually fit together, no caulk all over the place, wires protected from rubbing through, shock air within specs, etc....etc...etc.

I really love my 08 but these are a few issues they have had, not including bog and pistons but only a small number of them when you look at the big picture.

I'd bet on a 4-stroke, or a DI large bore 2-stroker. If its a 4-stroke I hope its a KTM motor and not the new Weber MPE-850. Its just too heavy and overcomplicted and requires too much electronic integration. KTM could build polaris a motor that would change alot of peoples opinion on 4-strokes, I'd bet they could build a V-Twin that weighs around 100LBs and has over 100 Ft-LBs and 150-160 HP, based on what they already have in their RC8 sportbike. Puts 155HP to the pavement and the engine weighs 140 LBs with a 6 Speed gear box.

I asked one of the mountain product development reps last year about the KTM R8C, and he responded "can you make it live at WOT long enough". This at least lets you know they are considdering it.

Pulled this off of another site. Apparently while riding in the Upper Penninsula of MI, a few guys stumbled across some folks ripping around in a bowl. We've had TONS of snow up there this year, and it's fairly secluded.

"We saw some weird looking sleds around Twin Lakes middle of Dec. Looked like Polaris sleds with a real tall looking seat with what appeared to be a rear suspension that resembles a swing arm motocross suspension."

Another member:
"It's funny you say that. We were parked off the side of the Freda trail and once we we were noticed they ripped out of there. Yamaha was also up there but only seen engineers and such at the Parkview lodge in a meeting room with papered up windows."

Of course, it's all hearsay until we all see what they do, but interesting regardless.

Word on the street is there are coming out with a brand new back end system. I know they are keeping the IQR front body but changing the hole re-end.

A IQR Mountain sled would be sooooo sick!!!

Maybe something like this?
