:target:Bought a 08 summit 800R in 08. Never ridden a sled before. Now riding in the B.C. Kootenays. Have taken back country course and avalanche course. Have about 800 km on sled, most of 08 season was spent digging out the sled instead of riding. 09 season was better and sled skills got to the point where it was usually only one really good sled excavation per ride day. no damage to sled so far other than a windshield. Most of the time I use the sled to get up into some terrain where we can ski and board so we have not put on many miles yet. Getting better and more confident. still having trouble rolling the sled over to get a smooth carved turn in powder.Last week built a small tabletop jump in the yard to get used to handling the sled on drops and lips have hit it a dozen times or so and I feel more comfortable on my sled. Wondering though if this type of riding for this sled is not advised.

Welcome...nice to have you here! Sounds like you're on your way to some great times. Nice to see you got avy training....that's something VERY important to being out in the backcountry! :)
