Is this what we can expect from the new Polaris belt drive. With all the ranting and raving that I have heard I would hope not. But on the other hand it would be what I would expect.

Oh, here we go. This has already been posted on the Polaris thread. Me thinks that other brand riders are excited about this. I already have 35 miles on my 2013 and the belt looks fine. 100 miles for break in according to Polaris.

I really hope if it works. I for one know that it would be great HP gains if it works and would be nice if all the big three would start using it.

I just posted it because the original thread was deleted by it's author. If Polaris is going to have a problem then it needs to be open. If you didn't think it was going to have one failure then you need to step back and take a real look at life.

Nobody can produce a couple thousand units and not a have a problem. we will just have to wait and see if it becomes a chronic problem.

the belt shown above is off of a buddies of mine, if it happened durring a climb (which is/was the rumor on the other forum) then he was begging for it as the other pic i will post here shows how much snow there was. nobody is going to be able to give any real feed back on the belts this early in the season. (other than the demo tour last year which i personally rode one that had over 1200 miles on it on the original belt) i would account the three belt issues that i have seen including this one so far to lack of dealer knowledge on set up, running the sled on a sled lift with the belly pan rubbing on the bottom of the belt, or riding in to low of snow conditions and hitting something under full load with the track. if you look closely at the outside cogs of the belt in the picture it at least appears that they are rubbed off or ground down in the same area as which the inside cogs have the issue.

obviously not enough snow to be climbing ANYTHING

Thank you JK for confirming the pic is real. Having my honestly and integrity questioned wasn't the best feeling.

No matter the snow depth you can always hit something under load? Is that going to cause belt damage every time?

i definitely hope not!!!!!! or i'm going to get really good at changing them on the trail

hmmm, Well I'm hoping this is a random occurance and wont be a problem for others. After all they got demo'd and this wasnt a problem so I dont understand how it would start occuring now?

And Im still not sure why exactly this had to be posted in the general section? I didn't realize 1 guys problem is something the entire snowwest population needed to know about. I guess polaris is just that important?

Looks like he grabbed alot of dirt or rocks causing damage. Heck a chain and gear will break as well. I can post pics of gears broke and missing teath due to same abuse..

Seriously though..........."Hitler"????? Sorry dude that is just wrong.

It seems someone didn't like my title and felt it needed to be changed.

I thought it was the title of this thread was explained. A belt drive systems failed. The picture shows that. I would ask that you change the title back to the way it was.

It seems that you have a motive here is this true?

IMO, we are going to be dealing with the hitting stuff under load, no matter how much snow we get. Makes me glad I'll still be riding a chain case sled.....for now.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

and your name is hitler?? And your posting polaris stuff under the general forum? Do YOU have a motive? I'm surprised this thread hasn't been moved yet.

and your name is hitler??

If you would like to criticize my name I ask that you do it threw PM. It is not nice to make fun of people.

And your posting polaris stuff under the general forum?

I fail to see the question here.

Do YOU have a motive?

I have no motivation here. I have four Polaris (2013,2012,2002,1999) and Two Ski-doo(2009,2002) in the garage right now.

What would be my motivation?

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been moved yet.

I'm surprised as well.

must not care. It was a mistake when I posted it. I meant to post it in that sections but oh well it is here and they haven't moved it yet
.

:sorry:

sorry

I can't figure out if you request to be criticized by PM is sarcasm or if you are just that ignorant.

i don't think this is going to be an issue!those belts from what ive seen are the same belt that harleys use for a drive belt except its shorter and ive seen harley belts do the same thing, look at it this way would you rather have a belt do that or a chain break and tear up hundreds of dollars worth of parts? the math is pretty easy to do i think! we live in an imperfect world expect imperfection, put a new belt on and ride the bitch

That is the offer. If you would like to criticize my name do it threw PM. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelers in the open forum.

It seems that a couple have a problem with the choice of my user name.
