Need shotgun suggestions

if your lookin for cheap and reliable i'll put another vote for the mossberg 500, i've had mine for 11 years now and have had zero issues. basically the same gun as the 870 but a bit cheaper. i will admit though the pump gets a bit stiff on occasion but still never missed a beat. one of the smoothest actions ive seen on a pump is my dads winchester, i believe its a model 1300 or something like that. that thing dang near pumps itself.

I'm a Benelli fan, but the best bang for your buck is an 870 Express. IMO of course.

For reliability I'd still go with the 870 first choice and the Moss 500 second choice. The 500 was built to in mind for rugged reliability and military applications. I have a Super Black Eagle that I would toss aside in a heart beat for a "new in the box" Browning Auto 5 from the 1950's or 60's and toss a Jap steel barrel on it to go shoot. I kind of have a thing for the A-5 since I inheareted my grandfathers that he bought after he got back from WW2. I've got one that was built by remington in the Bonnie and Clyde era. Love them, they are overbuilt to last forever like the .50 Ma Duece. All of mine shoot, just having problems finding wood furniture for them that are in good shape. Now up to 4 A-5's and looking for more soon.

I hear ya there but how reassuring would it be to have a few 20 drums ready to go when the king comes to take our guns

I was thinking how sweet it would be to toss the days shoot of pheasant carcases in the old barn loft and drink beer till you hear the pitter patter of little feet and the squabbling of coons. Then walk up there with a loaded 20rd mag and play Doom with the coons. Sure beats the X Box 360 eh?
