Need advice bad

I'm waiting for pistons from mtntek yet but my dealer seems to be feeling some pain for me. They are gonna go through everything from ecu, injectors, oil pump, fuel filter, etc. They are giving me the 800 pro demo for my last trip this year with my dad and brothers. I think if they get me out of this sled without killing me on price I'm gonna snowcheck a new pro rmk, if not I know a skidoo dealer real close by that will get me out of it. Hoping I don't have to go that far!

So you say light honing with acid makes me question what was done with the cylinders the first time it was rebuilt. Anyone actually take a bore gauge and see what is going on? Are the cylinders egg shaped or barrell shaped. Are they tapered from wear larger at the top than the bottom or vice versa? Maybe creating a tight spot in the cylinder making it look like it was lean. Just thinking of ideas for you, dont know if it makes a difference or not but its something to check. I have seen brand new cylinders from polaris out of spec so thought Id ask.

Good points here!

The second time mine burnt down Polaris replaced the cylinders..the knocking was so loud it was crazy..Polaris tried to say that this was normal and some would be louder than others. The dealer mech adn io called BS on that one and Polaris after a bit of stomping my foot sent out new cylinders. they have to be measured.

make sure the hole in the thermostat isnt plugged with crapola also.

On warm up...especially after a break...the temp gauge will show 100 or better....rev it up a couple of times and get some water moving and you will see the temp drop very fast to something that is too low to ride off with. I call this the beer break burn down situation. Check this and you will be surprised how much cooler the water really is if you let it circulate a bit.

Can try this kit, taller stock oem pistons, less taper then polaris pistons so less rock in the cylinder. Kit comes with pistons, shim and gaskets and billit head. Great for turbos and high elevation mtn riders building more acceleration, power and reliability. We changed the port timing similiar to the new Pro RMK. Also have a low elevation or lake racing kit. Different compression ratios availible for whatever application.
