My RXP 4 tec project

Thats a sweet ride, lot of time and effort went into that, so is it comparable to a Yamaha with a turbo for actual performance, and how about dry weight, and is that motor dry sump, hows the lag?

It's around 520 lbs dry. I haven't run it against any Tapexs but I know it will make more power. Right now I'm at 18lbs at 7500' on pump gas(around 320hp). I'll probably push it up to 22lbs for next season.

Hello... this is my first post... I had to join just to say WOW! That sled is completely awesome... Now, being a flatlander from the east, I see an awesome lake racer sitting there (with some minor modification :) )

I want video... will be checking back next season for sure!

Amazing job astro!

finally! Frikin saweeeeeeet!!!!! You finally got all the bugs worked outta that thing or are you still tinkerin? Sounds mean and torquey!

M10, more boost and get some more miles on that beast!!!! Oh yeah and dont be afraid to bring it a little north! I would love to see that thing in action!!!!!!!!!

Thank YOU Astro!! :D:D That was absolutely awesome! With the 174 it would still hold the lift until you let off.

Congrats on a major build my friend!:beer;:beer;:beer;

RS

PS; feel free to post more video;)

Dealing with some clutch slippage issues right now. Going to a heavier spring and heavier weights in the primary and stiffer spring in the secondary. The fuel maps a pretty much done. Had to do 4D mapping which is where you do different maps for different throttle position in relationship to boost and RPM. So I ended up having to do about 8 different fuel maps.

I'm on my 4th output shaft from the motor to clutch. Broke 2 spline shafts and I'm back to a solid shaft screwed onto the crank with outboard support of the primary.

Well finally finish my project. It's a Fastrax chassis with a 1500cc 4 stroke out of a Seadoo RXP. Go rid of the super charger that was on it and went with a turbo. It's all driven by a Motec M400 with an Aimsport dash to monitor the engine. Will be running 15lbs of boost at first on premium which should give me over 300 hp. Not sure what the weight is yet but it's not much more than my Vertical Escape.

I'll post more picts as I shoot them.

this should haul the mail. very nice sled. is that a subaru sti in the first pic

Got to do some tuning with the new stuff on my project.

Added this summer

GT35r turbo
Motec Knock Module

Still running pump gas at 22lbs of boost at 8000' The new turbo has a bit more lag but it easily makes the 22 lbs. The knock module is cool except at first you have to make your motor knock so you can see what level the noise is in the motor. Mine did it at 8400 rpm 22lbs at 29 degrees of timing. This is about 10 more than I was running. Now that I know where it knocks I can program the ECU to pull out any amount of timing I want and then slowly put it back in. Nice to feel safe running the engine on the edge! Looks like I might have to get some 72 gram base supertips. I'm at 93 grams and still hitting the rev limiter. Did some rear skid work also to try to improve the handling. Still kind of a tank but getting better. Does anyone have a 174 that will make a tight turn. I'm trying to make the sled pull over easier. I put a super stiff spring on the front of my M10 and put a longer shock on it. Definitely helped with ski pressure. Still hard to pull over.

cool stuff. thats a BIG old turbo on that beast... 22# should be like what... 350+ hp?!!! closer to 400 land maybe? that is a really cool sled. props on the build. its clean!

great news Paulo!

Ive been telling people the power of these standalone FMS's for a long time, The capabilities are literally unreal with what one can do!

Get that suspension dialed in to harness all that power!!!!

Once agin, great job!!!!!!

It totally amazes me that people spend a ton of money on a turbo set up and then use some crappy band aid box for all the engine management. I will say though that if I didn't have my brother's help(motec dealer) It would be a bit of a challenge to learn all the stuff the system does. Once you have a Motec system you can just take it off the sled when you sell it and put it on the new project- not like all those other mod parts
