My RXP 4 tec project

WOW:eek:

This, and the RT/Carbon/Apex build are by far the two COOLEST builds i've ever seen.

You should be very proud, sir! NICE WORK! Keep us updated!

I did get a rough weight and I think it is around 520 without gas, I have to get a better scale. The only thing I noticed with the weight is a bit more body roll than a stock edge. But I'll take that trade for 300 hp!

Hmmmmmmmm I'd love to see this up against the TApex's out there. :D

Quit teasing us and get some video up! ;)

I'll get some video.

On pump gas what's a Tapex make 260? I'm making 320.

On race gas and a few motor mods this engine will do 450-500hp. Not sure how friendly it would be to ride. It would probably start breaking things:)

i never thought i would sa this about a sled, but i am in love lol, nice work, and to think i though turbo's would be the shiz on the moutain for awhile.

Thanks, it did come out nice. To bad the snow season is coming to an end. I was hoping to put some more time on it this year. I'm headed up towards Montana/Wyoming tomorrow, hopefully I'll find some good snow! Up to 17 lbs of boost, definately going to need to get the T35 on it to make more boost. It definately is heavier in front than my Escape But I'll take the trade off for the extra 180+ HP. I had to build a much bigger cooler- basically the tunnel is covered except for the in tunnel intercooler.

It seemed like there was some oil pressure problems since the motor doesn't use a dry sump but found that if the oil is topped off it keeps pressure at the hi RPMs. I do need to build a bigger oil cooler, I'm about 20 degrees hotter than I want to be.

I've been kind of surprised how well the front end stays on the ground after seeing all those Tapexs standing on their tails. The 174 definately helps as with the overall length of the sled. It's 12' nose to tail, hangs off the trailer a bit.

Been playing around with a Paragon secondary that came off my previous project. I don't know why everyone hates them so much. It never got above body temp and holds the RPM really well. Defintely fun seeing it work instead of collecting dust.

We Need Video Of This Beast!asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was riding in the Snowy Mtns this week and broke the driveshaft that goes between the crank and clutch. Sheared off right at the threads on the end of the crank. Going to add about .2" to the diameter, hopefully that will do the trick. Unfortunately that might do it for the season for me:( No video this year- sorry. I'll have it up to 400+ hp by next season- will be better for the video!

Got to ride in about 2 feet of powder and it handles well, about the same as my Escape. Feels a bit heavier in the front but not bad considering the motor weighs twice as much.

Can't wait until next season!

Consumer version!!

SWEET sled Astro....been waiting for DOO to use that motor in a sled...guess a 1200 is close enough!!

I sold both of my sleds...have a 2009 Renegade X 1200 4 tec coming...and the turbo option is first in line...stage 1 is 200-225 hp on 92-93 pump gas (7-8 psi)....have rail extensions for a 146/16/2.25 track...working on a tunnel extension to match...a 144/16/2.5 will work also with the 2.86" drivers...BJ
