My Pro's handling sucks...

when my quick disconnect sway bar pin decides to self quick disconnect. Not sure where it fell off but my sled was rolling around in the corners on the trail ride up to the back country yesterday morning. Looked around and notice the pin had fell out at some point. Should have just put the bolt back in or kept it in my tool kit months ago. Tried running the sway bar disconnected earlier this year and didn't like it. I have the Holz revalve shocks with clicker reservoirs. Tried all day to get the handling back where I liked it by spring preload and clicker adjustments. Never got it where I like it. One thing it did do better was handle the whooped out trail in and out but off trail it wasn't good at all. Bolt going back in today.

I hate the way the PRO handles without the sway bar as well, I love the way the Assault handles though.

IMO they feel very similar with the sway bar on

Yup, the ONLY mountain sled where I keep the bar in. And I've always been a big fan of having truly independent front suspension but I really haven't noticed kickback to the other side with this stabilizer bar setup - good job Polaris! Zero need for a quick disconnect on these sledz!

Have FUN!

Let's see. Spring is longer, spring diameter is bigger.

When you have your sway bar out with your stock springs it don't matter how tight you crank them, they still feel soggy and I still bottom the shocks out. With the Assault springs in I tighten them till I don't bottom out and this seems to be perfect, sled seems to handle great and doesn't feel soggy. It may not corner like a Rush but i didn't install them to river race or trail ride all the time. Still lots of adjustment on the threads.
I ride the sled to it's max and what I think the sled does, not the other way around.

Try Em You'll Like Them!

Try either the Zbroz XO or X1 shocks, factory built for your body weight. I have had an 06' Poo 755 Rmk and an 09' 800 dragon (now on an 12' Pro Rmk). I removed the factory shocks on both of those sleds and replaced them with Zbroz shocks. I will probably do the same with my 12'. With that being said, i removed the sway bars and did not have one problem with a spongy front end either on or off the trails.

I agree the front suspension has a lot to be desired. I has the opposite problem, I thought the front was WAY to stiff. By the time I unscrewed the spring enough that I began to like the ride there was no preload left and almost lost a spring keeper.

On the other hand I thought the rear was too soft and was bottoming out a lot.

My cure was 4 new Exit Shocks.

I am running Raptor shocks with triple rate springs. I still think that the sway-bar is the ticket. The initial part of the spring is fairly soft and tends to roll, my dad called it "unpredictable".

Ryan how does the rear feel with the Raptors and triple rate springs. The stock set up(I have stock shocks with revalve and clickers) seems to sag about halfway through the travel then tighten up and give a harsh ride. Seems like you lose a lot of the available travel then it just hits a wall. Can't get it work well with preload and clicker adjustments either. Sled gets up on the snow, sidehills, turns up hill etc really well but rides like crap on anything other than deep snow.

i have zbros on my m8t, love them...
i had fastrax in washington change springs(dual rate) and revalve shocks on my 2012 pro, night and day better than stock, they feel as good as my zbros. very affordable too....

Fastrax has a nice dual spring setup that (IMO) works better with the stock shocks....softer initially. Works good with the swaybar.

I don't have Raptors out back...yet. I think I might invest in some this summer while I am itching to do something to my sled. I have the same problem with the rear that you mentioned, the skid on my sled looks and acts like it is sacked out all the time. I can't get anything to work on the stock shocks either.
