My M7 Bog Is gone. I figured it out!!!!

My 06 has always had a bog at low rpms, did my belt deflection until it spun the track while in the air but also minimal squeel after idling for a bit, belt rides about 3/16 out of secondary. It dosen't lug while parked either, I don't think I could get it any closer to perfection. It feels way more peppy from the start and while lettin off a bit and then gettin back into it. However when chopping the throttle at low rpms it still cuts out, a bit different than the bog. Put a hps can on and things got worse[ back to bog at low rpm], put stock can back on runs good again, I will check my tube. Anyone have trouble with that can?

Mid-range Bog

I have a 2007 M1000 162'' that has always had a mid-range bog. What's weird is that it doesnt do it every time, I would say it does it 95% of the time. It's especially noticeable when I am climbing up a hill, let out of the throttle, and then get back into it. It will bog for about a 1 or 2 seconds and then take off like a bad outta hell. But a lot of times that bog slows me down enough that when the power finally comes on it trenches and I get stuck. Pisses Me Off! I tried playing with the Pure Logic box to see if that would help but had no luck. As soon as I get home tonight I am going to see if I can move the tube and take it for a spin out in the field and see what I come up with... I hope this works, I'll post tomorrow and let ya'll know what I find out.

i had the problem with my edge x and was getting pretty annoyed because sometimes it would go and sometimes it wouldnt but then i noticed that tube had actually come off

I will try this and post results as well. I have an 06 m7 162 EFI and have been battling the bog for two years now. I changed gears and did clutching this off season and the bog continues, much better but continues. I can't wait to try this, I hope it saves my sled.

Can someone post pics of where they are re-routing the tube to. My was stuck down also and had a 1/4" of snow and ice in the end of the tube.

My '05 M7 doesn't neccesarily have a bog on the bottom end just has no bottom end to really speak of. Has never been crisp like it should be. Moved my tube, not sure if that will fix my problem....might just need a new sled.

Anyone else think the M7's are pukey on the bottom??

I think I fixed er'

So I just got off the sled from riding it in the field and it seems to be running good, no more bog! The Baro tube was tucked clear down in the belly pan, so I pulled it out and zip tied it to the wire harness near the stearing tie rod, drove it, and it seems to be ruinning better than ever! I hope this cures the problem, we'll see what happens when I take it up to the hills this weekend.

i have been riding a 05 m7 since they came out , have lived with the low end bog until this year. i put a rkt head on it, wow what a difference, cleaned up the low end bog, pulls way harder in the mid range, the motor runs crisper at all rpm's and no need for a fuely box.

Rex what elevation are you riding? What compression domes are you running? I have a set of 14:1 domes for sale if anyone is interested.

Approximately how long is this hose supposed to be? On my used '07 M1000, it's only about 13" or so.... just long enough to reach the fuel rail if it's run through both wire loops.

Just for grins I took it out of the 2nd loop and ran it straight back toward the oil tank and it reached 1/2 way.

Somehow, I don't see this helping as it appears that mine wasn't long enough to be effected by snow buildup in the bellypan.

Could the length of the hose effect the BOG??

I dont think you want to mess the length. It needs to be the length that came from the factory.

Ive had the low end bog a few times too. Always seems like the sled loads up and then takes a couple stabs at the throttle to break free. I checked my clear hose and it was properly routed back towards the engine.
Only sure way to get rid of the bog would be with a fuel control box on one end and a dyno on the other. Too bad there are no dynos within a 16hr drive so I guess Ill have to deal with it.

My M7 was the same. I needed a Control Box to add fuel. My btube has been routed with the wiring harness all along. I wish my fix was just a tube! It would have saved my $100's!! (not to mention the stress and fustration! ) Oh well Thats sledding right:eek:

Dear Cat Crazy

I can't believe you are giving this info away for free, you should have developed a "ECU Tube Relocation Kit" and sold it on here for thousands.

Then you could have bought a Dragon.

Glad to hear it's working better, now there are no excuses on the hill. Can't wait to run them

Could someone measure the length of the stock hose for an 08 M8. After reading this I went and checked mine. It has been melted and looks as though I may have lost some length because of it. Only at 10" on mine and somebody said they had 13" on their M1000.

Thanks

I got rid of mt bog with the pure logic box. There is a setting in there for throttle response. I put it at the 6th point and the bog left.........
