What track are you going to, Jim? CE? A head, I don't think this is gonna be a fair race when we line 'em up. Can't wait to do it though. Nice job on the panels.

Hahahahahahaha, Mark, if you ever thought is was gonna be fair you've already lost !!! Jim knows more tricks . . . . . :face-icon-small-dis

It's poor inocent me that's at a disadvantage! :face-icon-small-hap

Hey Jim, I hear the hot track is a stocker 163 cut down to 3/4 inch, . . . . . after all, it's all about track speed . . . . . right?:face-icon-small-ton

I'm going to 5/8's with studs. Should hook up good. You guys better do the same if ya'll want to keep up with me. See ya' on the mountain, boys!!

You guys are younger and more agile than my tiried old arse so I need all the help I can get.:faint:
I might attempt the hood vents this week.No knee vents, that area gets beat up pretty good but I like the free layout by CO-BE thou.
I sure would like to stuff a 163 under there but the price doubles because of the rails and tunnel extension.I might be able to forgo the extension it looks like the snoflap will clear. If I stay with the 155 than I can afford the head.

I hear what you are saying about the knee vent area taking a beating, but my thinking is that a vent with an adequate aluminum frame should be at least as strong as the stock plastic. Metal screen vs plastic.

Are you making them? Lets see them when they are done.

Yes, but it will be a few weeks out. Thanks for your pics!

OS, I made a boo boo last year (it's ok, it was only the one ! :face-icon-small-win) and hit my right knee into the knee vent area, now I have an exact replica of my knee cap cracked into the plastic. I would be VERY INTERESTED is seeing what you come up with. I have plenty of raw material around (even though we don't have any chip trucks here!) just looking for something that looks like it will hold up.

Thanks!

Hey Bag was that when you tried to get off the trail and kissed that tree.hehehe you tree hugger you.
On the back of sandwich coolers there is a perferated piece of aluminum full of 1/4'' holes that would work great.I just have not fiqured out how to frame it yet.

I will let you know what I come up with. I'm thinking that the actual holes in the plastic with be numerous small holes something like 1/2 inch or so instead of larger 2 inch like I often see. I'm also thinking of having a backing frame that would go inside (if there is room) to double the frame strength.
Still thinlking.

Ok, for the record, I KISSED that tree, I did NOT hug it. As I recall, it did not return the affection . . .
So does that mean that it's a bad bet ordering a sandwich at your resturant?!? :face-icon-small-con

That would probably work. . . . I was thinking of a rectangle of aluminum sized to fill the area, with 1/2 or 5/8 holes in it, on the outside and inside with matching holes in the existing plastic part, and a layer of breathable venting material sandwiched inbetween. The outer aluminum could be painted black to match the existing plastic, or color matched to the body, or left natural, which I would like as my sled is silver/black.
I'm looking to add strength as well as venting.

I would try a restaurant supply ware house they use alot of stainless and aluminum for the guards around the compressors. They always have tons of old equipment.
And just for the record we have only had 3 fatalitys at the restaurant and that was caused from the 2 breakfast burritos and a Dragon burger being too spicy. They definitly needed venting.

Bagger claims he makes a "killer" breakfast burrito. You didn't have him working for you by any chance?
