I like how my sled looks, but it needs something. I can't figure out what it's missing. I'm going to be putting on a skins rear bumper, in black I think. But it needs more than that. Any ideas what I could do to make the color's and looks of the sled flow better?

how about CR racings tunnel sides?..they look very nice and should be really functional....

There's an idea... They look good but a bit out of my budget I'm afraid. I was thinking maybe a set of these side panel vents? Would blend in the white from the hood a bit better.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/POLA...id=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65:12|39:1|72:1171

Only thing I'm thinking about is I ride in the bush a lot. And there are times where I have to carve on willow type brush to get out of tight spots, and am thinking these might not hold up then. I'm not sure.

Great looking sled!!

IMO... move that second hood strap from the side panel to the "crotch" of the fender in the shock tower area... if you loose your rear hood hold down strap there is not much to hold the hood down as the side panel will want to rip out as it is only held on by a thin piece of plastic under the head of he screw that holds it in the rear....

Much more secure to the fender.

Well IMO...

Go with Holz front end and spindles as well as Holz Alpha in the back. That is a lot of dinero, so if you can't swing any of that then maybe just do the spindles. They look sick and do help steering effort a bit.

Thanks MH. :beer; Yeah very true. That is where I also would have put it. The previous owner put them on. I would move them but then I have two holes there. One on my hood and one in my side panel. Would look a bit cheap then I think. Here's a bit of an updated pic from behind. You can why I'm going with a skins bumper. Can't seem to keep the stock one straight. Bend it to far and you start putting all the force on the tunnel. Wouldn't want to ripple the tunnel. :P Other than that and maybe the side panels I'm drawing a blank as to what I can do to improve looks and at the same time functionality. I was thinking or replacing my SE with black better boards. But other than JUST looks it won't make much diff. Yes they have their advantages, but not enough to make me spend that much right now. I'm thinking maybe that's all I should go for now. And then get the airbox vent thing. I forget who makes it. You mount it on the back side of your air box for when your sled runs out of air due to plugged vents that vent opens up from the vacuum and you don't bog down. That's one thing I have problems with. So that might be worth it. Anybody use the timber sled intake on the 800? How is that? Is it worth the money?

Ditch that tall Fugly gas can...

Get one of these from Trailtank.net in Black

They are super heavy duty... much more than the NAPA/Cdn. Tire cans...
and look nice in the black with the black tank/bag/seat. And wont catch your feet stepping from side to side.

hand guards look good but if you tree ride, and are switching from one side to the other a lot the functionality is not there. you will find that they get in the way a lot... i ran some at the beginning of the season and liked them a lot, i suppose i learned to get used to them being there, but after rolling my sled a couple 30 times down a hill and they both broke off, i got the chance to ride with out them and it was WAY better. if your just looking for a cheaper way to dress up the looks of your sled, i'd recomend powder coating the spindles and rails, posible black spindles and white rails, or white for both, would flow great with the front bumper, and serve a purpose in shedding the dreaded weight from the built up ice and snow on bare aluminum. great looking sled by the way!

To Do List:

Okay since this is an opinon based thread, here is mine:

If that was my sled and I was watching budget but looking for options that would be purposeful and still look awesome I would-
1. Spindles, go with the Black Holz spindles, you lose some weight, better turning etc. Hold them up to it, if you like them all black then keep them black, if not do them white, but let me tell you, white spindles get super dirty and since you mentioned you hit brush, just like I do, they will be a ***** to keep clean and looking good and white.

2. Side vents for sure - the slp vents you have are great but side vents change the under hood heat so much it is not even arguable. But once again, take it from me DO NOT DO WHITE VENTS - they will be so dirty after a few rides you will be pissed, you can not keep them clean, there is to much exhaust fumes, and dirt that shows up on them. If you want to add some bling and have a usefuel product I would check these out JT Panels

http://www.jtpanels.com/catalog/item/6568240/6423425.htm

I would do White frames, with black screen and then black rivets, that would look pimp

3. Rails - Black Lightweight rails change the whole look of your rear skid, plus you can lose a good grip of weight with rails. I would do the ICE AGE lightweight rails anadoized black, 8" rear wheels for a 155. Plus if you get them ordered this summer you get free hyfax and hardware (check out the ice age website)

http://www.iceagemfg.com/product.php?productid=16144&cat=249&page=1

Black hyfax look really good, and dont spring for hyperfax, they imo are not worth it.

I have the Black Trail Tanks can as well - Big 2 thumbs up for that as well, I also have the Black Rear Skinz Bumper - 2 thumbs up again ( I went through 2 stock bumpers prior to this purchase) I have the Fastrax rails on this sled but had the ice age rails on my 900 Dragon, thought I would give the Fastrax a try but they are screwed up bc they were not made correctly so the geometry on my holz suspension is wrong; they were suposed to be for Holz but are for stock. All beside the point, buy the Ice Age.

I do not represent any of these companies, all though I should I am good at promoting them, I have just spent so much money and have had first hand experience with all these products. Here is a couple pictures of my sled, I too buy products that work good but try to keep color themes with all my sleds. Take it for what its worth

The Kinz and crew are right on plus continue your hood wrap to the side of the tunnel and powdercoat your boards black so far it's a very nice ride but all the stuff mentioned will help it also if the rear bumper is to much cash we use a snow bunge alot infact have em hooked to a 12' nylon rope stuffed into a shovel bag and permantly tied to the stock rear bumper but first take a large eye bolt open it a little (polish the h out of it ) and put it threw the back tunnel with a large thick washer behind it , the washer will bend to the tunnel, never so much had slight bumper bend yet out of about 8 sleds like that.

Before I even read your post, my first impression was to put on a black Skinz rear bumper. :D Glad you alread have that planned. You may think about a Skinz seat support too. The one they make looks like how Polaris should have made it from the factory.
Handguards, I'm a true believer in the heat loc line from Skinz. They actually function. You can wear lighter gloves and don't have to worry about breaking or bending mount kits and guards. Since they are a textile construction they flex when needed.
Overall, I think your sled looks awesome already. Great job.

I think your sled looks great! I really like the white/black look. The only thing I would change is the chrome windshield. I am just not a fan of chrome, except on wheels. Especially fake chrome. Sometimes chrome "accents" make a vehicles look as if a 16 year old kids first car with a 500 gift card to checker auto parts IMO. I think a low profile flat black windshield would make it look more grown up. But other wise it looks great!!! Ride it like a rental....

Forgot the Bee and yellow/black to go along w/the honeycombs.

haha no thanks. I despise ski-doo.... :rolleyes::D

A turbo would really set the looks of it off.. ;).. :D

haha yeah right, wouldn't that be fun. :)

About the hand guards, seems like quite a few of you think it needs them, it might look good, but I had them on my old sled, and they were nice, but IMO not really worth it.

wyo900dragon: Thanks a lot for that post. Lots of good points and ideas there. Most of which I totally agree with and can see my self maybe doing. :beer;

rmk727: I'm not sure the honey comb would really show up on the silver tunnel, plus it's paint not a wrap, so a harder to do. I like your idea about the boards though. Will look into that.

jafraune: To tell you the truth I LIKE the chrome windy, wouldn't add anymore chrome to it, but I think it looks good. :) An assult wind shield I can see would also look awesome. You have to remember though, you ARE talking to a 16 year old. lol :D But yes I can totally see your point. Thanks

Hey you got to go for what you like......I can respect that. Like I said...I think your sled is great. May I add a very nice ride for a 16 year old. Take good care of her lol. I wasnt trying to disrespect at all, just my opinion. I think some of the others had some great feedback and good leads for the next steps....good luck!
