My Dragon needs SOMTHING. Help me figure out what.

My first thought was a wrap for the sides of the tank (not sure if anyone makes them) to match your hood, but just the bottom portion maybe, not all the way over the tank........ That would break the black tank and seat up. After reading others posts, I think the black rails would look good with the boards. Nice looking sled!

Sled looks great, add functionablilty. Go with the Holz Spindles. Get rid of the key and mount a teather to the handlebar riser. Look for an e-z- ryde rear, and some powder pro skis.

Jordan at ArcticFX can make what ever you need. here's what my tank looks like, had it wrapped to match my sled

I would never do it to my sled, but a blacked out headlight would b*tch*n on that sled...of course if you don't night ride.

ideas

some white rmk decals on the side panels to off set the black
like whatthis sled has

you might be stuck on your graphics and if so that's cool. But I think a better graphics kit would help out. FX has good stuff that also wraps the side panels and tank (as someone stated) for under $200. Here is what I did to mine, and I'm thinking I might still make a few changes.

OK so i think for this year I'm going to do the JT side panel vents, just the wyo900dragon was saying. White frame, black vent fabric, and black rivets, Skins rear bumper in back, and look into getting my rails powder coated. For you guys that have gotten your rails coated, what did it cost? Roughly. That's about all I can afford right now. If Polaris new motor up dates hold up I'll be keeping the sled and look into Black HOLZ spindles and black better boards next. On second thought, can the stock spindles be powder coated? Like would it stick? Cause if that works that's what I will do for this year. If I'm doing my rails might as well do the spindles as well.

jafraune: Yes I totally understand what you ment, and I didn't take as disrespect at all. I have to say I am pretty lucky to be able to afford such a sled at my age. But it doesn't come for free, lot's of hard work and saving to get this far. :D

duramaxdan: Lovin your sled man! Very nicely done. I like the vents as well, but from what I can see in the pics I'm not sure they would hold up to my riding. Looks great though.

BugIto: Also a really nice looking sled. But yes I like my hood how it is, plus it's paint, not a decal kit, so I would hate to cover it with decals. If I were to do any sticker work Arctic FX is defiantly who I would go see.

yes the stock spindles can be powder coated and they look very sharp, and i believe the rails run about $60-100 depending on how much prep work needs to be done.

Thanks man. I'll start on looking for a coater close to me. Closest town where I think I would find one is five hours away. But I'll see who I can find

Actually that's my sled he quoted my pic from the last page, and the silk screens hold up real well, I blast plenty of tight trees and brush, ect even managed to mangle one of the side panels and the silk screen and vents in general have not had a single issue. Definitely recommend 2 cool air vents, top notch stuff.

O im sorry! Lol didnt notice that. Love it though. Nicely done. Ok good to hear. I have the slp shock well vents, and the pre filter is not holding up to the riding i do. So was thinking those side panels might not either. But they must be made from a stronger fabric. :) i will concider them for sure if they are strong. :)

I think your sled looks excellent as is! I'd concentrate on function as it looks super cool as is.

Things I'd do if it were mine. (obviously ditch the SE's:D...buy some 14m outdoor vinyl and cover the sides where the SE's buggered it up...add more to the top back of tunnel...under insides were you can...and finally rear outer tunnel behind the running board support beam)

Now since there is a recall coming on your 08 800 you are getting a new top end, head, and ecu map. That means if you spend $400 on 09-10 plastic and $300 on ice age rails (same pattern as 09-10 and you can get black and save $85 on powder) you now have darn near the same exact sled as a guy does that goes down and buys a 2010! The new plastic goes through the snow better and doesn't break apart with one minor crash. Add 6" wear bars to your stock skis instead of the stocker 4" which will make the stock spindles much more functional and you won't have to spend $300 on new spindles. ($60 from woodies) Now go ride hard for another 4000 or so miles with nothing but maintanance! I know you are 16 but you somehow came up with the coin to get this far so keep going.

On your vents...you can drill out the aluminum rivets and pull the neighbors ol' ladies used nylons off your frames....buy some tight weave textaline (or any plastic coated mesh vinyl) from your local outdoor fabric store (or net), powder coat the frames...glue on the back of the frames and further strengthen by sandwiching the fabric between your fender and the frame by the replacement rivets. Then your venting will actually do what it's supposed to....plus take the abuse of constant bombardment of snow ice and brush. That should cost you a bit of time and about $30 in materials for all of your vents to make them perform.

Oh yea PS it appears by the condition of your rear bumper that you guys have been practicing the help your buddy get unstuck fly... by yank em downhill... unsticking technique? I'd quit that program...while it's a great and easy way to unstick your buddy it's really rough on your newer long tunneled, lighter, weaker, models of mtn sleds. Just the wrong angle or timing and you get to buy a new tunnel for your buggy...not just a bumper.

Ok well dad cut off our internet for the summer. So i guess its on my phone from now on. So it will be a bit shorter and simpler said i guess. Sorry about that. Fbomb: yes i am planning on going with bb yet. Just not this winter. :) ok so what do you mean by the vinyl? What type of stuff is it? Just in like a gray color or what? Just to cover the rivet holes? Thanks for the input on my vents. Ill check it out. See what kind of stuff i can find. Yeah a guy could in with the 09 front end. But i already have a TCP bumper and its holding up a whole lot better than my buddies 09 front does are. So i will stick with what i have. And no i have never pulled a sled with my dragon at all. The previous owner may have though. We always just do it by hand. :)

If you get on line you can look up nylon mesh material (to make your screen) from any outdoor fabric supplier. There are all kinds of brands of it and all kinds of tightness of the weave for the openings. Obviously the larger the holes or looser the weave pattern the more air and less likelihood that your vent will glaze and completely freeze to zero air flow (like pre-filter does). You can also get screen door material or pet screen material and accomplish a similar result. The coated nylon like previously explained works the best and is extraordinarily durable. It comes in all colors but black is best. Peel off the pre-filter from SLP vents (it peels right off with the glue stuck to the material) and replace that pre-filter material with venting material that actually flows air and can take the abuse from that area of installation.
Simple Procedure:
Cut your fabric to match the frame....double sided sticky tape along the frame that would sandwich between the fender plastic and the frame...lay on the new replacement fabric.....soldering iron or red hot metal nail to burn your existing rivet holes...re-rivet into place with new aluminum rivets and now your fabric is held by the tape, the rivets, and the pressure between the fender and the outer frame.
tool and supplies:
scissors
hand rivet tool
drill
vent/screen material
double sided sticky tape 3M
replacement aluminum rivets

my vote would be white ski's, black spindles, black rails
mad props on the hood!!

Well im thinking black rails and spindles. but the skis will stay i think. they work great, look fine. and over all i have no reason to spend that money really. i like black skis right now. :) that might change though. Thanks for your thoughts there. And yes thanks. :) i like it too. But cant take credit for it. The guy i bought it from had it done by a local here. who happens to be a friend of his. :) connections. Lol and thanks to everyone everyone else as well for the kind words and all the good advise.
