My BD Pro Cold Air Intake Part 2

WTF is going on! I just tried to post questions on the thread titled "My Boondocker Cold Air Intake" and it says closed.
I'm not a forum expert by any means so maybe I am missing something here but am I doing something wrong?? The thing just shows closed but no explanation or anything. I have to believe that SW or an admin would have given a heads up or something. Right??

My questions really focus around the future of my kit as I am a paid in full BD turbo owner several times over now.

Is everything pretty much a stock, under the hood type upgrade. IE would I need a head light delete kit or an outside cold air intake??
And can we get any information on the drops in charge temps you are seeing with the intercooler now in testing?

Tx

Also please stop bashing and comparing me (brand x).

I really should just post up pictures of the 2012 kit. Make all you guys that are running different kits more jealous. Price is better too.

Paint your rusted up garbage, and your rigged up injector setup, and have a good day. There are some very good machinest out there, spend the money and make a boot, Or call I will sell you mine. My testing is done and can't believe how much better the pros run WITHOUT an intercooler.:face-icon-small-win

Also sorry if Ive missed some calls lately, I run a separate business and have been super busy. Just call back if you don't get me the first time. Still business at night on the TIG though.

Come on man, don't stoop to their level, by bashing and doing what you asked others not to do. Makes me not want to send business your way.

Just venting after ready all this BS. Im done and out, see you on the snow next season. Everyone have a great summer.

Wow.. I must have missed something. Justin, keep your nose out of the crap fights on here.. keep focused on your products, they are fantastic.

We dont need this to turn into the Doo turbo section... :face-icon-small-con

How come every single boondocker pro thread has Sibler, or somebody from Sibler talking about the Sibler kit or bashing the boondocker kit.

The original thread was intended to help, inform, maybe even show off a mod made to a boondocker turbo pro.

I've ridden Cats since 2002, and never really had interest in Polaris sleds, not because I didn't like them, but because the polaris group was tight knit, and really didn't want to intermingle with the cat fellas. Over in the Arctic Cat turbo section, the group is pretty big, and it doesn't matter whether you ride brand x,y,z, they all seem to come together and help each out with any problems or tech questions, or mods.
The only reason I'm riding a Polaris Pro, is because I'd been waiting 2 years for a new cat chassis, and they weren't delivering. I hope their new proclimb chassis is the bomb, throw a twisted on it and I'll be right back home.

looks like the original thread got snowested. Moral of the story, don't scare potential customers away from a site sponsor? Snowest, now with less truth than ever.

I had heard that this happens but this is the first time I have seen it. Looks like I need to go read the original thread and decide why I think it was closed. I would hate to think it was closed just because BD was having their feet held to the fire a little. If that's the case (IMO) it is really going to affect how I feel about the forum as a resource for snowmobilers. Rather I'll begin looking at it as a resource for sponsors and marketeers.

Yes let's keep this on track.

Thanks for the response Junior, couple more questions...

How far is your IC sitting in front of the other brands IC, my depth perception is bad... can you give us actual dimensions of the two?

Will this kit finally run on pump gas or is RG still need to be added to be safe?

Why did the 3 injector setup get scrapped? I thought when the kit first came out the 3 injector setup was the way to go? Any reason why 4 is now going to be used like other brands?

Will users be able to get more than 400 miles on a set of reeds?

Cost of upgrade if you aren't the first one on the list?? Boost numbers after this upgrade?

Thanks

As far as I can see Silber’s (Justin’s) cooler stands up in the chassis, in this upright position the cooler has to be small about 5.5”x6” in order to clear the stock steering linkage.

The Boondocker Intercooler is a lay down cooler and uses a 7.5”x7” core. But that is only part of the picture. Look at the size of the intercooler tanks. You need this volume for throttle response and smooth air flow. Boondocker intercoolers are also extruded cores so they flow with less restriction and have more internal surface area. The extra surface area provides more cooling. Below is a side by side comparison of the two different cores.

With a Boondocker Timing module, the non intercooled Pros run on pump gas, and the lower charge air temps will help also.

The third injector was introduced early on, but became unneeded for boost pressures below 12 psi with the introduction of the updated 3D programming. The Boondocker 3D programming dives the stock injectors in such a way that they are more efficient than conventional methods (the exact details of this method is proprietary). The intercooler upgrade was always intended to come with two injectors. Boondocker has been using two auxiliary injectors for several years now on our intercooled Arctic Cat kits, That is where the “inspiration” came from.

Reed life will be increases with the lower charge temps.

The Cost of this kit is to be announced. We just wanted to give guys a sneak peak at what was to come.

The pictures below are of a prototype intercooler, the production coolers will be based on this prototype. The fourth picture below is a close up of the corner hidden by the frame upright in the second and third pictures. I have also included a picture of a Boondocker intercooler core side by side comparison with a core used by other builders. The portion of the core that is exposed (uncovered) in the side by side picture is meant to represent the size of the core these other builders are using.

Thanks
Junior

Yes the Boondocker intercooler upgrade will fit your stock sled, you can keep your headlight.

With this cooler you can expect to see 40%-50% decrease in charge air temps.

Thanks

Awesome, I would like my upgrade kit like yesterday, LOL. When can we expect to be able to purchase these? We still have 150" of snow here.

Now I'm confused. What exactly do you need to run pump gas in these things? And how much boost can you run on pump gas?

Will the intercooler be required? Timing module? No need for extra injectors with the timing module?

Thanks!

From what I get you can run pg with the timing module with or without the intercooler up to 12 lbs at elevation.

Well that answerd pretty much all my questions. Looks like I will just have to wait and see on the price for the guys that have the BD kit already.
