MOTOTRAX FIXES tips and tricks

Is anyone else having issues with rails coming out of track my has done this since day one im over it have 8 hours on kit now and averaging 6 times a ride to have to put track back on

Is your slide bushing in the rear worn? The only thing that keeps the rails from moving left or right at the front is that slide bushing. Track tension is important as well. I found the front of the rails were less likely to jump over the internal drive nubs if there was some pressure holding them down in front. A spring or rubber bumper at the front of the slide bushing in the rear will help hold the front of the rails on the track clips and limit the track walking off the rails, without need for excessive track tension. This also results in a bit more track on the snow and improved deep snow traction. As a side note, the track gets tighter as the suspension is compressed so you can get it too tight if it is real tight unloaded.

Slide bushing has wear but myn has done this since day one mototrax is going to send me a new bushing hope that helps ive been running the track super tight seems to help a little also it seems to help if i can keep the rubber seals on pivot arm which isn't very easy

I can almost pop those rubber seals off on pivot just by leaning the bike over in my shop... hope their update comes out soon.

When those rubber seals come out of the heim joint the bike leans slightly more. The more it leans the harder the rails are being pushed out of the track to the up side of the track. The worn bushing and additional lean allow the rails to move to the up side and thread the track off. A little down pressure at the front of the rails helps keep them jumping over the internal nubs. Tightening the track also makes it more difficult to force the rail over the nubs but, the track can be too tight. If tight on compression the track gets so tight it will pull the rear axle forward even if the bolt is tight. The fix for the rear axle moving proposed by mototrax (in this or another post) does not solve the tension on compression issue.

I have moved the rear carrier wheels to there own shaft farther back and up to make a larger triangle to fix the track tightening problem on this kit. I had posted a video somewhere

is mototrax still in business? neither phone number works and i've been trying to get an email/facebook message/text/phone reply for about 3 weeks now... and nothing. and we're a dealer for them.

Dunno I just called it and it worked. 1-800-378-6957

Also I just got a warranty email that their delrin bushing and counter balance springs & rivits updates are ready.

Just tested this limit strap out . It works for me and it seems to keep the track tensioned through out the stroke with the track at stock tension.
dooman 92 is right with the seals blown and rear slider worn the rails travel sideways in the track.
My seals have not come apart since I fixed the retainers over 2 months ago

Quick update: After all of the tweaks that I have made to this kit, I can say that it is an absolute blast to ride now. Time will tell if things are going to hold up to the abuse.

I have about 90 hard miles on it (post modifications) and things are working great. Bike is a 2012 350XCF-W Mototrax 129. It fly's down the trail at 55mph, rails the corners in 4th and 5th gears, handles mougals very well, and rips through the trees.

I rode side by side with a 2016 WR450F that had a TSS Timbersled 137 kit yesterday and my bike just rode circles around it. Most of this is due to the gutless power from that WR (we traded off and I could't believe how little power it had). I would like to compare it to other bikes and kits, but this thing is a blast now.

Take it for what it's worth; hopefully it holds up.

Picture of the WR and snow conditions.

I got my kit updates on order today. Called and left a message yesterday after getting the email. Danny called me back this morning and talked me through what they have in store and my parts are shipped.

I did have to pay the shipping and I don't have any problem doing so as long as I keep getting free updated parts.

I think Mototrax has done me right all along the way.

hmm. Well I kinda feel like the parts they are offering for free should've been shipped in the original box, you know, before needing them on the trail? The main irony being that these fixes won't fix anything. But to then tack on shipping is just insulting. Oh wait, gotta stay positive in this thread sorry....

Does Polaris, Cat, Yamaha, Skidoo send you all the parts needed for every years sleds updates.

If you can't handle a first year product don't buy it! I for one give props to a company for trying something out of the box. They didn't just change a thing or two they tried something totally different. If you cant afford to pay the $10 for shipping advancing parts for your kit then maybe you shouldn't be in this sport.

Quit whining!!!!!! Maybe if you treat people with respect they will treat you with respect back.
