Most miles put on in one day?

Years ago I would go on a ride(kind of a tough man/sled competition) with friends leave Friday morning be back Saturday evening would do the same area (lake of the woods MN) maybe change the loop a little but nearly 500 miles in 2 days. They do it same weekend every year and the one year it was -35F in the morning and -20F for the high we started with 18 cats and finished the loop with less than 10 lots of breakdowns at that temp. We cut across and skipped the 80 miles across the lake we usually do that year...not sure what the windchill would be at -35 and 100mph. Some of them still do it but I am in the burn more fuel and less miles out west crew now.

333 mile in one day. Colder than a witches tit. It happens here in Northern MN.
We also made a trip where we trailered from Duluth Mn to Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. Our driver dropped the four of us off at the train station in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. Loaded our sleds and gear there on the Algoma Snow Train and rode on the train for 9 hours to Hearst Ontario. Rode all the way back home from Hearst Ontario. 1600 plus miles. Had a blast!

High mileage days.. memories from the 80's and the Black Hills. Riding buddy of mine had a 1981 440 Exciter and I had a '84 Phazer. We would pound out 2 or 300 miles a day on those beat up trails back then. I think we were bullet-proof back then...

I suspect this is a West vs Mid West deal. Out West the rides are much shorter. I've never really kept track but my guess would be for me tops is 50-60 and out of gas.

146 miles cross country from Lake Louise, over to the Alphabet Hills to Maclaren River Lodge. There were remnants of an old trail in spots but it was mostly trial and error route finding. The last 12 miles were in deep, lightly tracked, river bottom powder...which is nice.

I don't go by the amount of miles anymore, but by how much fuel I can burn up on one of those deep powder days.:face-icon-small-win

330 for me with a group of 12. that was the yr I put 6500 miles on my new 1994 xlt. I was a spoiled 16 yr old and didn't work as a kid. now if I put on 800 miles in a year I am lucky

Made a day trip to Cooke with a goal of getting as much riding as possible, 150 miles of mountain riding, back to the truck to refuel 2 times. Never been so tired in my life!
