More foot traction ideas?

Something im concerned about is food traction on my new alpha, the snow seems to clear out fine and much less ice build up compared to my buddies axys. But i felt my feet slipping quite a bit. So i was wondering if anyone had any ideas for more traction? I have some traction screws laying around from b&m boards but i dont really know if i want screws sticking out the bottom

Get the klim snowbike boots with Michelin sole. As bad and slick as the running boards look, I've never slipped once. When I first got an alpha, last year, I just knew it was going to be a must to change them out. Never slipped with those boots so I'm not changing them.

Black cat running boards (AC accessory) are my new go too. You get added traction over stock without the damage traction screw cause. Plus the more ridged feel you get from tube boards without the increase in rider position height due to the thickness of the tubes and traction screws/cleats. Spent all last season on a set and they worked awesome. I do have the b&m fab boards on my 16. Those boards are great too but the traction screws are brutal on boots and at times the traction is to good. The black cat boards are the best of both worlds. I hate the flex you get from the stock boards. Maybe that’s not as bad with the narrower stock boards they started using in 17. But on the 16 it was a huge difference when I put the fab boards on. I didn’t even ride the Alpha with the stock boards.

I've got two sleds with B&M boards and just switched out the sharp ass traction screws for allen head screws. I buy the tube boards for stiffness and added tunnel strength as much as for traction.

I was hoping to do something without spending $400+. And i have brand new boots. Guess i will probably end up getting running boards

tki has traction pads. they say they are for the doo but, i riveted them on to the wife's ride just fine. she complained A LOT about the ice build up, no traction. these helped a bunch. Ski

Do the black cats boards clear snow as well as tube boards? I'm stuck between them or bdx tube boards because they both have built in traction vs screws.

I’m guessing you don’t have a Hardcore? Should be able to order just the outside piece from a Hardcore for fairly cheap. I’m much happier with the ‘20 Hardcore boards than my ‘19 Alpha. Only difference is the outside stiffener, which is where the majority of my foot is at on these narrow boards.

No issues with clearing out. Probably a bit more build up in the foot wells vs the b&m boards but easy to kick out.

You could try some short(ish) rivets from the bottom up. Not really sure how it would work but would still be better than having screw tips sticking out the bottom.

Ended up adding some of the traction screws to the outer rails, see how that works
