MCX Nytro secondary clutch problem

Guys have you experienced a big blast of throttle and then get out of it quick and then find out your belt is stuck down into the secondary....Whats or is there a fix?? Tighter preload or tougher spring?? Its a PITA sometimes and my TRX used to do it also....any suggestions??

I have the same problem and was thinking that It needs more spring tension but mine is set up with a turbo and had a hard time getting it to stop the hitting the rev limter so not sure I want to stiffen up the spring because then I will increase my rpm. But the problem seems to be the back shift

Having same problem also, finding that it does it more frequently after some steady climbs and the belt is hot. Going to stiffen up the secondary for tomorrows ride, if that don't help, screen kit to keep things cooler maybe.

Will happen on Trubo RX1, Apex and Nytro, your secondary spring is too weak, not near enough side pressure, preload etc. Been there done that and yes, it's a fuggin HUGE PITA.

Fix = Trade you Magic spring part # for a beer Thistle ?;)

arctic cat purple secondary spring is the spring alpine sells as there big boost spring seems to work just wicked

exactly the same problem here.
I have a roller rooster secondary on my MCX Apex.
it happened twice, last two rides.
I had the spring tension checked and it was fine.
what would happen if I increased the tension anyway?

Hey Darko, what should I do?

thanks

I have been getting the same thing lately on my Tapex. I was running the purple alpine spring. It was perfect for 1000km and then it seems to be getting progressively worse. I wound the spring one extra hole and it did help a little. I am going to put a new one in and try it for the next ride and see what happens. I'll let you know.

I thought Alpine was running a Black secondary spring????

Alpines spring is a purple AC spring spray painted black.

Buy an EPI solid Purple spring for an Arctic cat, it's half the cost. Wound to 0 and 1.

$26 bucks, eat you wheaties when you go to change your spring.:D:D:D

You'll need a second set of hands to spin it in there, fuggin stiffer than me at a whore house.:D

ps. The spring that was in that sled when i sold it to you is a EPI purple, and i spray bombed it black. They do wear out tho, so prolly time to replace it:)

You bet dude, ya just change it out for a new one.

You know Arctic Cat parts, they never last. Hahahahaha:beer;:beer;:):)

Set your secondary on a roll of Red Green on the floor, elimates guy # 2.

No way man, changing a secondary spring is a least a 6 pack job.:beer;:musicnote::musicnote::beer; No point in drinking by yourself. LOL

You could share a bottle of Baby Duck with Shirley instead, hahaha

Does anyone have the side by side specs of the EPI purple compared to the AC purple. I believe:

EPI Purple (PDS-16) = 160/260
AC Purple = ?

Anyone ?

Anyone try something stiffer ?

I believe the one you'll want is the ACSS-5 spring, not the PDS-16. Anyone?
