Marble Mt. SHELTER BURNED DOWN

It was beautiful! 3 - 4 inches of new snow. Last quarter mile still single lane but do able still snow in parking lot. If you're going go up early. Trails not too bad either my gf becoming quite the climber. So good in fact I am going up tomorrow, airport side

Forest service response;

I finally heard back from the FS and I thought I would share the information;

"We have in fact been receiving allot of comments about the cabin at Marble Mountain SnoPark and offers of help to rebuild and provide donations. It was very disappointing for everyone to see the building burn down. Yesterday the Mount St. Helens Trackriders and the Mount St. Helens Institute met with us to discuss efforts to rebuild the cabin. They will be joining as partners to take the lead in collecting donations and recruiting volunteers to help with the construction. The Institute will be leading the collections and the Trackriders will be leading the clean-up and reconstruction. The plan is to utilize logs from the National Forest and build the structure with volunteer labor. The collections will be used to pay for someone to process the logs and purchase supplies for the roof, doors, and windows. The Mount St. Helens Institute can take donations at any time and will soon set up a page on their website to take donations on-line. Here is a link to their website. http://www.mshinstitute.org/
