I have heard that you can get to whistlen Jacks Loadge from Cle Elum
Does anybody have a map or can tell me how to get there?

5 corners, the 119 rd, 33 rd, 3330 rd. to Buck Meadows area. Head south to tri-pod meadow (it's a 4wd jeep road, has a FS #). Rocky Saddle, Devils Slide, drop thru the trees an FS road to their door.

If you want groomed all the way: Buck Meadows east on the 31 rd (S. Fk Manastash), rt. on Barber Springs road to Rock Creek, take a right about 2 miles after Bald Mtn......

You can find the groomed route on the State parks web site, under: Motorized Sno-Parks.......G.luck......

Steve and I must have missed are invite, next time

I think we did talk about that......I know a lot of people that have never been and want to go....If we get some snow, maybe we should just pick a date and thru it up on "both" WA forums and see who shows.......The question always is: One day or 2? Sometimes, it's hard to book a room.....

There is another groomed route out towards quartz. The Devils slide route is the middle route and the shortest (note that about 5 miles of single trail can get pretty lumpy, but there are a few good climbs just South of Tripod) Also important to note that Tripod route is only about 46 miles each way and groomed routes are closer to 70??

Elliott: Thax for mentioning those Icy chutes out of Tri-pod, I neglected that. It took six put pull a heavy Nytro up that worst hill a week or 2 ago...

From my door, Tri-pod route is 51 miles, Barber Springs is 71.....( I have a few ideas on how to cut that 71 down a bit, just need more snow to try it out)....
