I have been out lately riding the yamadoo.. comfortable with how its running and my setup, NOW I WANT MORE BOOST!!!:face-icon-small-hap I have a little bleeder style one installed like this one pictured, problem is, it doesnt seem to do a whole lot, I have the thing pretty much threaded all the way out and it seems to have almost no affect on my boost levels.. I think i might hit like 2psi higher, but thats not gonna get it done. Im ready to turn the SOB up, now that I can take advantage of the propane!!

WHat kind of boost controller are you running and how does it work?? consistant boost? spiking?

Turbosmart E-Boost 2 electronic boost control. It takes a little reading to set it up. It has alot of features. Boost is steady

boost controller

Anything with the name turbosmart on it seems to work great always.
Have one on my nytro, have tried no name ones like the one pictured with less than great results.Have a turbosmart dual gate for sale$150.00 Allows 2 boost settings 1 high boost,1 for when you want less boost .Switches between with a toggle switch.

I like my current setup with it in the dash plastic for adjustment acess.. it just doesnt really do anything. I might try reinstalling it differently. In my constant removal/reinstall on the yamadoo I realized That you need the little t with the check valve in it, I just used a little barbed T fitting, this may explain my high idle I got once I opened the bleeder.. I guess I should try closing it and see if the idle goes back down.

My buddies laugh as they see me climbing and reach down and make a twist on the dial.

ive bought some cheap simular boost controller that didnt work worth the crap like you say yours is doing, trying to get 25psi was nearly imposible either i would get 10 or i would get 30 and deto like a mofo not i just use springs on the wg get the fastest spool up as possible and very consistant. dont just use a wastegate to control boost as boost comes up its pressureizeing the canister ever so slightly costing spool time. Using a good boost controller it wont let any "pressure" to the wg can until your set psi "fastest" spoolup

Buy a Hallman boost controller / Pro Series

I know the concept, If it holds 10 psi then the thing has to be well opened at those levels, so its gonna start to crack open a hair sooner. For fun I might just go disconnect the wastegate, take it for a pull and see what the turbo can do!!! but seriously, I am looking at the hallman ones, I just dont have any freakin money right now, I have been driving all over creation sledding. I need to do something thought, this whole 8-9# thing is gay.. I went to propane for real boost.

try the springs man just go to napa and buy a spring kit they come with an assortment of springs and just exsperiment, ive been useing it for years only crappy part is if you want more or less boost you gotta add or subtract springs, its not the prettiest thats for damn sure but it works

I have a hallman and a turbosmart and the hallman definitely holds it more consistent.

well, I was lookin over the sled today fixin some stuff, found out that the bracket I had welded on to support my wastegate was broken off.. so the wastegate head was sorta just flopping around, this MIGHT be why my boost was not really acting right, and it felt a hair laggy for a midmount. we will see how it acts now that the wastegate has some preload and the controller might affect things.

That's almost guaranteed to be the problem!!!!

If the waste gate isn't mounted solid, how can it pull on the actuator rod and do it's job?

oh its definately the problem, i was bein sarcastic, the thing could open the flapper like 1/4 of the way just bouncin around.. when I reinstalled it I also put some more preload on it, get the BOOST UP!!! I wanted more bad this weekend, cant get enough BOOST!!
