m925 turbo

The 925 is not a good configuration for a turbo application. It runs great naturally aspirated, but I would go with a stock m7 or m8 turbo rather than the 925 turbo. The 1200 on the other hand seems to be a great alternative to the M1000 turbo. More power and guys are getting good reliability out of this setup.

all the 925 turbos ive been reading about have head mods. so they are running the same 925 piston and shaving the domes to run lower compression im guessing. so wouldnt it be the same as a stock m8 turbo with a big bore, and potentially alot more power? and i was talking about a 1200 turbo not comparing the 1200 to the m1000 turbo.

Why?

The 1200 and the 925 are great turbo motors as Product Tester said. The company that is doing the big bores better have there porting and compression configured for a turbo motor because they are way different than non turbo porting specs.

i kind get the idea "better have there porting and compression configured for a turbo motor because they are way different than non turbo porting specs. ", but in reality it doesnt matter that much for lower boost levels. none of the m8s or m1000s are ported for any of the pump gas apps and most arent done for the race gas setups either. A lot of guys are still running the high compression heads too. you leave something on the table for big long pulls, but if you had a 925 and added a turbo, I think it would be stronger than a m8 at the same boost from what I have seen.

running a D&D 901 with boonie turbo

only 400 mil;es on motor since big bore, runs great, no porting, stock head
