M8 vs summit 800

I live in the UP and we get alot of snow, looking to upgrade from my 2000 polaris 800 rmk mod to somthing more dependable. Every time I ride it somthing else breaks. Just want some input on what you guys think of the 2008 and newer M8's vs. 2008 and newer summit 800's. I do a lot of jumping and boondocking. Need to make a good decision because I'm 17 and thats alot of money to spend for a toy.

Summit sounds better for what you are describing. It's more fun on the trails and for jumping. Off trail I'd take the M though.

All makes have their problems, but from what I have seen the Cats are the most dependable in the motor department. Ski-Doos 800s seem to have a few problems every now and then but mine has had 0 issues so far.

Ride both and see....they both run hard, but the ergo's are night and day. If you are comfortable riding one, you may hate the other. I can't ride an M-sled to save my life.....the bars, seat, running boards, suspension, everything just feels wrong. Other guys love them and ride the crap out of them. So it comes down to what you like.

My dad has a 2009 ski-doo summit 600 and I ride that alot to and I love how it handles but I have a chance to ride a 2010 M8 this weekend to see how I like it

If you have a chance ride an m8 HCR and see how you like that. i absolutely love mine. I've rode all of the sleds and for me its the most comfortable. Handles on the mountains just like all the other m-series but a little better built for jumping.

I've never seen as many brand blinded fan-boys as there are in the sled world. People are very adaptable and can get used to anything.. that said me and my bud traded off for a little while in the pow, xp to d8.. both of us fell off the other's sled multiple times and happily got back on the steeds we started the day with.

Try to ride 'em all and go with what you like best!

where in the UP are you to me it depended on dealer (which one had his head up his _____ the least) even thought were i bought my sled (not local) had a great service/parts department
(let me walk around the shop tore into my sled with me, made sure that the extra parts were correct and answered all my questions, seemed to me they would would almost let me help them fix/replace something too get an understanding of things as long as it didn't cut into their pay)
but could handle the upfront sales and business part they couldn't spell my name correctly once and put ryan down on one document (my name is zak) while having a copy of my drivers license next to them next time i swing by that way i am going to see if is possible to have them replace all the paperwork and get a new official certificate of origin or i will cause a s**t storm (a monkey can correctly fill out paper work, there are some special people up here)
