M1100T HOOD TEMPS

Sure is... First time I got off it at night and seen a cherry red exhaust manifold I thought it was on fire in there. If you have that restrictive muffler on there it holds a ton of heat also.. I would suggest chucking it as far as possible.

The restrictive muffler and lack of venting are a problem. As stated above, chuck the stocker......most people can't get it too far, just make sure there are no children around when it lands.

I've read that AC can tell what mods have been done to the 1100t...can they tell if u ditch the sticker and go with a straight pipe or aftermarket can?

Diamond s should clear that up got one I'll sell ya lol

Chuck the stocker, Wrap the new one. Keeping the heat in the pipe is good for performance. Hot air has more velocity. Also a free flowing muffler will allow the heat to exscape like said above.

Here is a video explaining how to get some cheap vents on the proclimb. Dont know i would do it on the clutch side for deep powder riding but on the exhaust side I would for sure.

Turbo what are you wrapping and with what? I've seen you say this a few times and if I wrap that exhaust header with anything I'm gonna need a fire brigade to follow me to put out the fire? It's cherry red after every ride.

Wrap the can. . . If you want to do the header pull it off and have it ceramic coated along with the turbine housing off the turbo.

I am using basic header wrap for wrapping v8 headers to wrap my can and the pipe up to the flange. The header wrap can withstand glowing. 304 glows at like 1500 or so I think and the header wrap can withstand constant 1800. I don't think that the downpipe glows though.

If you want the glow to go away go with meth/water injection and tune it at night. Turn up the pressure until the header stops glowing. If the header is not glowing you know that everything else downstream will not be as hot either.

Use header wrap. No fire brigade needed.

My muffler is a stainless steel TD that never gets too hot and I'd rather not wrap that, maybe the outlet pipe. I will prolly have the header cermakoted along with the housing this offseason. Since the muffler went on I have not noticed the warm sweatty right foot, but only have boondocked the U.P. along with some trails. The real test is only 13 days away in Utah as long as there's snow.

440 cfm intercooler fan. Blows outside air throughout your engine compartment. Cools down charge temps and under hood heat. $199 (not a cheap Chinese fan)

header tape

what about using header wrap over a ceramic coated pipe? Any problems with doing so?

for best results dei makes a turbo bag aswell.we have one sled where the turbo is wrapped and the exh is wrapped from the turbo and its night and day. my friend mounted a bildge fan sucking hot air out through the side vent but it gets so hot it melted the fan blades ,

The turbo blanket scares me honestly. But I can see the benefit from it. Ulmer has a blanket that wraps over his manifold.

Wrapping the header and turbo blanket as well as downpipe wrapped would likely make a difference on spool up.
